Ferienhotel Sonnenhof

First time stay at Ferienhotel Sonnehof. From arrival to departure cannot find fault with anything associated with the hotel. Warm welcome. Comfortable room. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Good choice of food both for breakfast and evening meal. Enjoyed the entertainment that was arranged for 2 nights. Ideal situtaion for expoloring the surrounding areas.

This îs a family owned hotel with excelent facilities, located at the outskirts of the village near the ski lifts. However in my view the hotel is catered for mainly German speaking clients and thus they tend to be colder with people that don’t speak German, most probably due to language barriers. Which is a shame! Pros: one the best food selection I had in during our stays in Austria, very nice and cozy rooms / apartments, some of the staff in restaurant made real efforts to deal with us as non German speakers, very nice pool area, sledges and children strollers available. Cons: this is a 4star superior hotel but they have lockers in the spa area that operate with 1 euro coins (??), the farm house is not in the same building as the hotel so one needs to walk in the middle of December through the outside parking to access the pool area; did not manage to find slippers in the room, wanted to take some of the coffee as take away in the last morning but they don’t have paper cups to offer, some of the stuff in restaurant did not made and effort for helping non German speakers. Also in my view the hotel is missing a bar area where one can have a drink after dinner ( there are only few tables and armchairs around the reception, but not really a bar) What I also found strange (maybe is just me) is that you find across the hotel pictures of the family owning the business, including some that I find private such as from wedding, with grand parents, which children in different moments in time. But not really to complain on this.
