Tau Lodge is the place to go in South Africa. From your deck watching the animals come and go to the watering hole is so relaxing. I like how staff at the camp have so much respect for the animals, not overwhelming them with too many vehicles at one time. The rooms were perfect. Was not sure about the outdoor shower but really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, varied and plentiful. Really liked the “Bush Dinner” experience. Would highly recommend this lodge.

Overall excellent. Game viewing and ranger wonderful. Located in lovely spot. overlooking a large water area, so game constantly coming to drink. Staff are well trained and fabulous. Food good and different dinner venues added interest to the stay. Cleanliness and bed excellent. I thought the bathrooms were getting a bit tired.

My Stay at Tau Lodge was wonderful, the staff were respectful and professional. And they accommodated my requests accordingly. The ranger Lazarus was very knowledgeable and did his job perfectly. He had good answers about the animals and history of the game reserve - which was gold for me. Together with Tanya, who was great too, with the role. Poppy also was a darling, she is a good host and makes sure you are taken care of. All round the waiters and waitress were all in smiling and doing their job well. I saw many animals as well, in a short period of time ( 4 nights) that would be difficult to see in some reserves. I saw the Big 4 ( less Leorpard, which proved difficult to see) plus many birds, many antelopes, Hyena, Cheetahs and many more. The food was lovely, and especially on Heritage day where many traditional foods were cooked and some meat over fire. Traditional beers - Umqomboti was lovely.

Tau Game lodge, met every expectation we had & so much more.. We have truly left a piece of our hearts in the Madikwe Reserve and especially at Tau Game lodge. Everything was more than we expected from the friendly service to the delicious food, to the atmosphere and our incredible Ranger Rose, Rose was fun, knowledgeable and never missed an opportunity for a sighting.

Lodge splendido, tutto ben curato e pulito. Il personale sempre sorridente e pronto ad ogni richiesta. Abbiamo passato 5 giorni davvero speciali. Il lodge dove abbiamo pernottato molto caratteristico, davanti alla pozza dove puoi vedere continuamente gli animali (unica pecca avrebbe bisogno di una piccola ristrutturazione sopratutto il bagno perché un po’ datato, e la doccia fuori non sempre funzionale per via del tempo ovviamente). Colazione super, pranzi e cene ottimi. Le ragazze della Spa graziosissime. Il nostro Ranger Herman ci ha fatto passare dei momenti indimenticabili, albe e tramonti spettacolari, abbiamo visto quasi tutti gli animali, meno il leopardo e i licaoni. Consigliatissimo !!!”

You don't get luxury any closer to nature. The rooms are remarkable but the location overlooking the waterhole are exceptional. You are surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature sitting on your patio or lying in bed. Food is good and staff are well trained.

Séjour magnifique au Tau Game Lodge!!! C'est un endroit superbe! Les petits chalets donnent tous sur le grand trou d'eau auquel les animaux viennent se désaltérer toute la journée... c'est époustouflant. Nous avions les éléphants près de notre terrasse avec leurs bébés ... inoubliable! C'est le seul lodge de ce genre à Madikwe, cette plus cher mais cela vaut la peine. Nous sommes resté 3 nuits. Merci aussi à notre ranger Rose qui nous a fait découvrir ce parc magique.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Tau. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff are just wonderful - so helpful, friendly and caring - they obviously take great pride in this wonderful place. The food is so good that it is impossible to resist - and there is so much of it! The game drives are fantastic with lovely touches such as blankets and hot water bottles. Our ranger had huge passion and love for all of the animals, from the tiniest birds to the huge elephants. This was a once in a lifetime experience for us and we can't think of a better place to experience it all than Tau.

We stayed in the family suite (rooms 1 & 2) for a week in July. Lots of animals visit the watering hole in front of the property. Staff is excellent. Food is good. Poppy and her staff really went above and beyond when we needed them.
