My husband and I booked this hotel through TUI on a B&B basis, which suited us as we wanted flexibility to dine in other establishments, although we did eat our evening meal at the hotel on a couple of occasions and had pool snacks at lunchtime twice. The room we had overlooked the sea across to mainland Greece and we had a spacious balcony to enjoy an early morning coffee on. The hotel was just the right size for our tastes, busy enough to have atmosphere but small enough that we saw the same people daily and how lovely and helpful they all were. I dont think I have ever stayed in a hotel abroad where I have been met with such friendly staff. Thank you all. There were always sunbeds available although I can imagine in the height of the season that may be a little different. The beach was a 20 min walk down a very steep road which actually wasn't as daunting as it first appeared. However, there is a complimentary shuttle service 3 times a day should you require it. The beach was delightful, sunbeds and umbrellas are available to use for the day on the understanding that you spend a min of 5 Euros per head, which is no problem. A couple of drinks and you're there. We hired a car for 3 days out of the 7 and the hotel were happy to organise this for us. I think we may have struggled a little without the freedom to explore for those days. We were able to walk out of the hotel to a couple of restaurants very nearby and enjoyed some wonderful Greek food. (the road is not the greatest, the pavement is not wide enough and is a little overgrown in places, so we would not have been able to go much further in safety which was a shame) If you do go, don't miss the Florida Taverna and the fabulous Marva who is an amazing host. We visited the west side of the island and thought this to be more attractive than the east side, although Zante town was enjoyable. If I were to return to Zante, I would have no hesitation in staying and would recommend for couples. It is probably not the place for you if you are looking for full on night life. You would want the Laganas area, but that would definitely not be our choice! There were predominantly Dutch & German guests when we were there mid Sept, but we did smoke out another English couple, amazingly enough from our home town and we have since met up so we had a wonderful bonus on this holiday! :)
