Hotel Sierra Resort Yuzawa

We visited in January with my family of four, and in March with my siblings' families, a total of ten people. The staff were all very friendly, the facilities were clean, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, the location was great, and the whole family was very satisfied. We hope to come again next season. Thank you for all your help!!

I have used Sierra Resort in Hakuba many times, but I have always been interested in this Sierra Resort, and I finally had the opportunity to use it. Since it's a ski resort, I thought it would be a big hotel, but it turned out to be a medium-sized hotel in a white building located on quite a hill (Iwahara Slope). From the terrace in front of the lobby lounge, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Tanigawa mountain range and the great outdoors. This is a hotel with direct access to the ski slopes. I checked in at the main building and my room was in the annex next door. There is a bath building in the basement of the annex, and only in the annex is it okay to wear a yukata. The room is a spacious, modern Western-style room, with part of the ceiling slanted. It's a bit like an attic. I was so clumsy that I hit my head on the ceiling a few times. Wi-Fi can be connected in the room, but it was disappointing that there was no safe in the room. The baths include a spacious indoor bath and an open-air bath with a spectacular view of the city of Yuzawa and the mountains. There was a tree with bright red autumn leaves next to the open-air bath, and it was very beautiful. When I went the next morning, the autumn leaves on the mountain, which I couldn't see well the day before due to the setting sun, were still very beautiful. The bath has cosmetic remover oil and foaming facial soap, and the wash area has cosmetic emulsion and is fully equipped with toiletries. Now, for dinner, it was a French course at a restaurant. The night view was sparkling. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that if you had to choose between meat or fish for the main dish, it would cost an additional 3,300 yen if you wanted to eat both. I thought both courses were included, so I was a little disappointed. However, when I chose meat as my main dish, the pork fillet poele was quite filling. The soup was sweet potato potage, but it was too sweet and not good. I thought it would be a good idea to ask the staff to try it. I think the sweetness doesn't go well with wine. It was sweet like sugar. The main dish, pork, had a fragrant mushroom sauce and was very satisfying. Of the two types of bread, the round white one was more delicious. The tea at the end was purveyor to the Swedish royal family, but it was disappointingly lukewarm.The dessert itself was delicious, but it was sweet and there was a lot of it, so I would have preferred coffee instead. The edible hozuki dessert was unique and had a refreshing sour taste. How was dinner with you later? When I asked about it, he said that there wasn't much dinner, and that it wouldn't be enough for someone who does skiing. A glass of wine costs 900 yen, and a full bottle starts at 3,800 yen, so I ordered that (a French Chardonnay wine). Breakfast was a buffet and it was after a group, so there were almost no menu items (grilled fish, salad, etc.). The pickled zuiki and Saikyo-yaki were delicious. I thought there was no natto even though it was a buffet, but next to the rice bowl there was a raw egg, chopped natto, and tororo. I now understand why the rice bowl is quite large. From the restaurant, you could see the morning view of the mountains with autumn leaves, which was nice. I'm so happy that I was finally able to stay at this wonderful resort-style hotel.
