The service was excellent; the young lady at the inn helped us carry our luggage up, and the room was very comfortable with a great view. It's truly the best guesthouse in Nuodeng.

I had a truly immersive weekend in Nuodeng. I stayed at a guesthouse in Gujingjianshan, a village in Nuodeng where goods are still transported by mules. The facilities there are comparable to guesthouses costing two or three thousand yuan in Dali Old Town, and the service was incredibly attentive. They even delivered a large bottle of contact lens solution in the middle of the night – something you might not even get in Dali! I also met Xiaoxi and her family, who were also there for the weekend. We played cards with their baby, Zhouzhou, in the evening 🃏 and stargazed together on the terrace before bed. The food in Nuodeng is much tastier, with better ingredients than in Dali. The meal consisted of stir-fried green peppers and ham, steamed sausage, and stir-fried chayote tips—so delicious it made my eyebrows fall off! I got up early to take a walk around the village, then came back for breakfast. Breakfast was rice noodles—they're not as thin as these in Dali—served with large blueberries and small, soft kiwis; the highland fruits were truly delicious. The guesthouse was piled high with new books. I spent the morning sunbathing, finishing Lyndon B. Linden's autobiography, *Searching for My Hometown in China*, which brought the characters to life. I casually flipped through Tagore's *Stray Birds*: "Let this be my conclusion: I believe in your love."

I was eager to write a review, and I genuinely recommend this guesthouse. My stay was over five stars from start to finish. The service, decor, and food were all fantastic. The bedding was incredibly comfortable linen; even I, a bit of a clean freak, couldn't find a single thing that bothered me. The rice noodles and corn cakes for breakfast were super delicious, along with sweet potatoes and free-range eggs. A cup of black coffee with that was the perfect way to start the day off right! Haha.

I think this is the pinnacle of all the guesthouses I've stayed in (so far, including Hong Kong, Japan, Spain, Italy, France, Morocco…). The ancient well is located halfway up a mountain in Nuodeng Ancient Village. On my first night, I stayed at another guesthouse nearby. The owner, Ms. Gu Shan, said my room could be checked in early, so I packed my luggage early and came over. She thoughtfully brought me hot milk and then went to the previous guesthouse to pick up my luggage. The guesthouse's decor is very tasteful, and the environment is open and airy. The young lady who manages the guesthouse, Xiao Wei, gave me a feeling of a girl next door—gentle and considerate. Since I was traveling alone, she even specially prepared a single-serving dinner for me and lowered the price. I wholeheartedly recommend this thoughtfully managed place. Staying here will definitely create unforgettable memories! ^_^

It's rare to see a guesthouse so meticulously designed. All the stair treads are rounded to blunt angles; the kettle is enamel; the slippers are thick and breathable; the toothbrushes have soft, thick bristles; there's a wooden massage comb with an air cushion; thick Xinjiang long-staple cotton towels are sterilized and sealed; the smart toilet and bathroom have temperature and ventilation control systems—every detail reveals the owner's thoughtful consideration for comfortable living. Even the pillowcases, duvet covers, and curtains are all in the same color scheme, made of pure cotton and linen. Lying on the bed, I felt completely enveloped, yet comfortably supported—a solid softness. I noticed the thick, double-layered mattress; its resilience was far more reassuring than a spring mattress… Looking out the window, I saw mountains, with scattered yellow earthen houses, and the faint sound of horse bells in the distance. The fresh air made me relax and take a deep breath. Closing my eyes, I recalled the starry sky I saw from the second-floor terrace; I was sure I'd sleep well tonight. (The owner was really attentive. When we asked about the recommended restaurants, he meticulously introduced us to various eateries, specialties, and pubs. He even prepared playing cards for us if we wanted to play board games. The breakfast was also delicious, nutritionally balanced, and the fruit was very fresh.)

The room I booked, "Seeing the Mountain," truly offered a view of the mountain from every corner. I especially loved the balcony; as night fell, I lit candles, turned on the stereo, and listened to music quietly while waiting for the moon to emerge from the clouds—it was incredibly relaxing! The village was very peaceful at night; listening to the distant barking of dogs and the voices of the villagers, I took a bath in the tub by the window, and it was so relaxing I could easily drift off to sleep! All the bedding and curtains were made of cotton and linen, soft and breathable—I didn't want to get out of bed! The braised pork rice noodles for breakfast were incredibly fragrant and authentic! I really love Nuodeng, and I also love Gujing Jianshan (Seeing the Mountain)—see you next time!
