"the best thing about yundu is the dog that greets you as you enter. it is a ball of cloud with so much energy and playfulness. communicating with them was fairly okay--but perhaps some translation got misinterpreted, which resulted into miscommunication. but issues were resolved quickly, and in the end, we were quite pleased with their service. location wise is great. it is walking distance to the ancient town through the new road. unfortunately, my mother couldn't walk far so we didn't manage to explore this route. cleanliness was generally good with some spots that needed more attention. there were bird feathers and a couple of flies in the room when we checked in but we managed to take care of that ourselves. the tea set was lovely and delicious. breakfast was great. we love simple chinese breakfast of mi xian and some side dishes. the soy milk was also delicious. restaurant area is lovely with a view looking out to a field of tall grass. gym and laundry area were a bit weird and neglected--they probably should look after that area better. also we had to do our own laundry, which was rather strange for a boutique hotel. we got our laundries taken care of by other hotels and this was the only one where we had to do our own. the photo shoot area was nice though and they also had great selection of clothes that we could borrow. we had lots of fun doing our own photo shoot there."

"Hotel located exactly at dukezong city with the windows overlooking songzanlin monestary. Owner is knowledgeable and accommodating. Really nice guy. He speaks really good English! Told us he used to teach English, a tour guide and also experienced photographer~. He show us comparison of 18 years ago dukezong from his photo album and current dukezong. Told us story how Shangrila name come about. We chats about his cats, one particular kitten named Puma is very naughty. Enjoyed being in his lobby where he set up the fireplace and the cats getting heat there. At lobby there's peanut and walnut on the table, we able to enjoy them while chit chatting. I really enjoyed being in this boutique hotel. All his staff can speak simple English too~
The bed is warm and toasty. I feel it's a blessing when we check in, it was snowing lightly as well. I can see owner have great personality and an animal lover. If I ever visit Shangrila I will surely extend my stay in this hotel; just to have story time with the owner. ❤️"

"Passing through Lijiang, I chose the Hilton Lijiang among many hotels, and honestly, here's my brief experience:
First, upon arrival, the bellhop immediately helped with my luggage and took it to the front desk for check-in. The front desk staff was very efficient and did a great job explaining the hotel's dining options and local tour routes. The room was similar to other Hilton hotels, the only difference being that the rooms here are much larger than other Hiltons; even the king-sized bed rooms are 50-55 square meters, which feels incredibly spacious! On the floor, I encountered the housekeeping staff who were all smiles and greeted me warmly. I happened to catch the Saturday buffet, which maintained international standards, offering everything imaginable, including many local Yunnan specialties. The hotel's surroundings are lovely; Wenbi Lake is perfect for running and walking. The 'Lijiang Eternal Love' show was much better than the 'Eternal Love' shows in other places!
It was a great travel experience, highly recommended!"

"I carefully selected this hotel, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's located right off the road leading up to the Baisha Murals, with convenient and free parking. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with a sense of luxury and a stylish design. The room facilities are excellent, with both underfloor heating and air conditioning. The mattress, bedding, and disposable amenities are all incredibly comfortable. The heated toilet seat was a real luxury in the cold weather. From the hotel's observation deck, you can watch the sunrise illuminate Jade Dragon Snow Mountain without even leaving the building – it's perfect for photos. We also enjoyed a free travel photoshoot. The hotel breakfast was abundant and delicious, with freshly made rice noodles, accompanied by coarse grains, fruits, eggs, milk, and salad – clearly a lot of thought goes into it. The service was particularly warm and attentive. For the price, the value for money is absolutely incredible. I genuinely recommend it!"

The balcony also featured a hot spring tub, and after a soak, my skin felt wonderfully smooth and relaxed. The service was excellent; they provided a complimentary airport pickup, and both the driver and all the staff were very polite. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to the front desk, and the prices are quite reasonable.
However, the hotel's location isn't directly in the ancient town area; it's about a 10-15 minute drive to Shuhe Ancient Town. Overall, it's perfect for travelers with their own car, as there's ample parking available. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic, helping us carry our luggage to the room and even peeling an apple for us while we waited to check in. It felt just like coming home. The rice noodles for breakfast, prepared by the auntie, were absolutely delicious – one bowl simply wasn't enough! Plus, the restaurant offers stunning views of the snowy mountains. Our room was spacious with clean, comfortable bedding, and the huge floor-to-ceiling windows were perfect for watching the sunrise. From the balcony, we even captured the 'Golden Mountain illuminated by the sun,' which I'd been longing to see. We were absolutely delighted with our choice of guesthouse this time!"

"Out of my entire Yunnan trip, the four nights I spent in Lijiang were the most satisfying. For less than 300 a night, I got a guesthouse that exceeded all expectations (though it was off-season pricing).
Our room was on the top floor, the third floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Drawing back the curtains offered a direct view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and we got to see the 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon.
The hygiene was excellent; no hairs on the bed or floor, very clean.
All the amenities were basically new and well-suited to guests' habits.
No mosquitoes or insects.
The bathrobes were very warm, a big plus.
The host was incredibly nice. They added me on WeChat and were always responsive and quick to reply. They even provided us with complimentary pickup and drop-off services (from the airport to the guesthouse, and from the guesthouse to the high-speed rail station, both arranged by the host).
This place is definitely the most satisfying accommodation I've ever stayed in."

I scoured all the B&Bs near Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, all to find a room with a view of the 'Golden Mountain' sunrise.
I finally chose this one, where you can watch the sunrise from your room.
The butler contacted me before check-in and created a service group.
Everyone says B&Bs are tough to run these days, and everyone is upping their service game.
This 'thousand-yuan' B&B truly exceeded my expectations.
Upon arrival, a butler was there to help with luggage.
Before check-in, they carefully asked about my breakfast preferences and afternoon tea likes.
They also thoroughly explained all the hidden features of the room.
No need to mention the kids' toiletries, nail care kit, and makeup remover kit.
All toiletries were from Jo Malone.
They even thoughtfully prepared 'photo props' like sunglasses and shawls.
The room even had amenities like a washing machine, dryer, and water dispenser.
More comprehensive than the appliances at home!
The butler upgraded my room type.
The terrace came with a photogenic shallow pool, a large bed, and a heating fireplace, creating an absolutely fantastic ambiance.
I had a brief chat with the owner, and they now own several B&Bs in Yunnan.
This one is also a newly opened and upgraded venture.
They've hosted many celebrities!
On the day of check-in, I immediately recommended it to many friends.
If I get the chance to come to Lijiang again, this will still be my first choice.

Although transportation in the old town can be a bit inconvenient, the thoughtful owner and the front desk lady always greeted us with smiles and meticulously arranged everything for us. Their genuine sincerity made us feel incredibly warm.
In the mornings, the sun-drenched terrace was the whole family's favorite spot. Our clothes dried there always carried the scent of sunshine, and in the evenings, we could enjoy a drink while taking in the view as the lights of the old town gradually flickered on. I especially have to praise their breakfast; the Chinese options were heartwarming and comforting, while the Western dishes were exquisite and delicious—every bite reflected great care.
Everywhere in the room, you could see the owner's attention to detail: a spotless environment and thoughtful motion-sensor lights that made our stay both convenient and cozy. The reluctance of our child to leave was the best review. This wasn't just a stay; it was a warm encounter. Next time we visit Baisha, this will definitely be our first choice!

Waking up to the golden sunlight on the peaks just by opening the curtains was incredible. The complimentary photos from the hotel were also fantastic; the photographer was so enthusiastic. In fact, all the staff were incredibly kind and polite. It's a great place for families with kids, and I'll definitely bring my little one back next time to feed the ponies and lambs. The hotel's exterior looks like a piece of art growing out of the wilderness, with white geometric roofs and stone walls. There's no excessive adornment, yet it blends perfectly with the grasslands, lakes, and snow-capped mountains of Wenhai Village. Every photo you take here is a masterpiece, no filters needed.
The oversized floor-to-ceiling windows in the room are the soul of the design. Waking up to the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountains feels like framing the outdoor scenery into a dynamic painting. The interior features warm wooden furniture paired with light gray fabric soft furnishings. There's no elaborate decoration, yet sophistication is evident everywhere, even the pillow patterns echo the plants outside the window – the attention to detail is exceptional.
The service is incredibly thoughtful. From check-in to check-out, a dedicated person follows up throughout. The butlers are all very enthusiastic, and their responsiveness to requests is unbelievably fast. They set up exclusive butler groups, so if you need anything, just message the group, and the butler will resolve it immediately. I will definitely be back to visit again!

YYinhuaioI was amazed from the moment I entered the gate. There are surprises everywhere. There is also this natural wabi-sabi style B&B in Baisha. The front yard is very natural as a whole. Every place is just right for me. Where is it really? Every shot without any processing is perfect. What’s even more surprising is the backyard, which has a wooden house, a bonfire, and a large platform. You can lie on a deck chair and relax while facing the snow-capped mountains. It’s really comfortable to stay in any B&B anywhere. Once you arrive at the B&B, you stay there all the time to relax. It’s really I don't want to go anywhere. The bedding in the room is very comfortable. Because I came here in winter, the temperature is still relatively low at night. The whole room is very comfortable with floor heating. Every experience reflects the careful layout of the B&B. Everything used is carefully designed. It is designed and very comfortable to use. Such a treasure B&B is really rare. This trip is relatively short and I will leave after one day. Next time I come to Lijiang to stay a few more days, I will come to the B&B to relax. Highly recommended.
PS: The store manager is super nice. I was tired from walking around Baisha Ancient Town, so I made a special trip to the ancient town to pick me up. When I arrived at the B&B, the butler’s service was very enthusiastic, and the B&B was great value for money. Give you likes 👍

As a busy worker, I finally fulfilled my wish of relaxing in bed with the window open, gazing at the snow-capped mountains, towering trees, and grazing cattle and sheep!
Another highlight was experiencing the hotel's attentive and detailed butler service from arrival to departure – I was extremely satisfied! The main building and interior design are both incredibly beautiful, the surroundings are gorgeous, and the indoor spaces are spacious and well-appointed. The outdoor landscaping also has a great vibe; I found myself constantly taking photos just a few steps away.
The rich and high-quality meals also deserve high praise. Our package included complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, roasted milk, fruit, hot pot, and a bedtime drink, all of which were delicious! Upon check-out, the butler even gave us a bag of local specialty snacks as a souvenir – so thoughtful!
We spent two unforgettable nights here. A big thank you to the stellar butler team for their meticulous service throughout our stay. I look forward to returning again someday!

2️⃣ **Service:** The owner provided excellent service. The cobblestone paths in the ancient town make it very difficult to drag luggage, so the owner confirmed our arrival time in advance and picked us up at the ancient town entrance with a three-wheeled vehicle to help with our bags. After check-in, he also sent us helpful tips for our stay.
3️⃣ **Facilities:** The guesthouse is newly built, so all the amenities are new and modern. It's equipped with a Dyson hairdryer, smart speaker, and smart home control throughout. You can even enjoy the stunning 'Golden Mountain' sunrise view from the third floor of the guesthouse, saving you the trouble of finding a spot elsewhere.

Our room featured floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing us to lie in bed and watch the clouds drift lazily across the mountaintops, with every breath infused with the fresh scent of pine. The windows framed the mountain views like a living wallpaper; by day, it was a vibrant green tapestry, and in the evenings, the peaks were bathed in stunning orange and pink hues. Every casual photo looked like a cinematic screenshot.
The ”Golden Mountain at Sunrise” (日照金山) viewed from the rooftop was an absolutely unforgettable, breathtaking spectacle. Watching the snow-capped peaks slowly transform from steely grey to shimmering gold, with the first rays of light touching my face, it felt as if even the wind held its breath. This sheer, majestic grandeur is a moment no filter could ever hope to capture.
The evening bonfire party truly embodied the most vibrant and authentic local atmosphere. As dusk settled, the bonfire by the entrance sprang to life. Naxi aunties led everyone in traditional 'datiao' dances, the firewood crackled merrily, and songs mixed with laughter echoed up the hillside. We drank local rice wine and joined the circle, feeling the day's serene tranquility transition seamlessly into the lively energy of the night.
From the 'Golden Mountain' at dawn to the late-night bonfire, from the stunning mountain views from our room to the fresh scent of flora and fauna with every breath, this place perfectly blends the refined elegance of 'French-inspired rustic luxury' with the genuine, untouched spirit of Lijiang's wilderness. It creates a compelling reason to want to return and stay here again and again. Next time I visit Lijiang, I'll definitely be staying here again!

CClinomaniac LyeI recommend conducting thorough research before making reservations to fully understand what to expect. We were somewhat surprised by the campsite-style setup, as we booked based solely on website photos without delving into the specifics.
While the facilities are adequate, the layout lacks privacy. For instance, to use the cabin's toilet, all curtains on the first level must be closed. Additionally, the toilet bowl is situated behind stairs without any curtains, potentially allowing others in the cabin to see. Moreover, the second-level flooring consists of planks with numerous gaps, providing visibility to the first level, including the bathtub and toilet bowl.
I strongly advise against booking this accommodation for families with children due to the safety risk posed by the sliding doors on the second level, which lack safety measures. While they offer a unique view of the mountain, the danger of potential falls is significant. If you do choose to consider it as a family cabin, I recommend checking with the staff to lock the doors from the outside for added safety.
Despite the unexpected aspects mentioned above, our overall stay was still decent. The staff were hospitable and helpful throughout our visit. Communication was convenient via WeChat for check-in details, recommendations, and self-checkout. It seems that the camping style of accommodation was a selling point, it’s definitely a unique stay. I’m sure there’s a specific crowd that would fully enjoy the experience.
