Field Station Joshua Tree

A modernized motel, converted from an old travelodge, with the charm of a small resort, at least in the pool area. Although located at the entrance to Yucca Valley, it's about four miles from the center (and any amenities) of this sprawling town. The bright room was somewhat simply but comfortably furnished. I was lucky enough to be placed in the section with direct pool access (rooms 2101-2112). The adjacent building offered access to a pleasantly landscaped garden. Unusually, the room had two exits. The car could be parked right by the front door, while the back provided direct access to the pool terrace. The room was spotlessly clean and smelled pleasantly fresh. Although adequately sized, it lacked a closet, and clothes racks on the wall offered the only way to spread out one's belongings. My room had a securely locked connecting door to the next room. When that room was occupied, I realized just how extremely noisy the building is. The kitchen (consisting only of a refrigerator and a shelf) and bathroom are somewhat separated spatially and serve their purpose.

The building and interior have a stylish atmosphere, and although the design is very simple, I thought it was very functional with no unnecessary elements. The front desk staff were also kind and gave me recommendations for Joshua Tree's best spots and restaurants. I would like to stay at this hotel again.

The space is spacious; it would be even better if there were drinking water facilities.
