Stage Neck Inn

We love the seaside location and views as well as the convenient location near Kittery and Portsmouth. Sitting on the beach as well as enjoying the outdoor pool were wonderful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is incredible and varied with extremely attentive staff. Shearwater restaurant staff is so helpful, but unfortunately, the quality of dishes does not reflect the quality of this amazing inn. Ingredients and flavors did not always work well together. Even a simple salad missed the mark. Overall, Stage Neck is among our all time favorites. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, and stunning views make this a special place.

Staff is excellent. We were especially impressed with the restaurant staff. They all work together and are cordial and well organized. Food quality was excellent. Very impressed. Of course the location, beach and pool club are all a pleasure.

A wonderful stay, beautiful view with a patio that allowed you to keep the screen door open and listen to the waves. Enjoyed watching the boats go by. We were surprised at check in how aloof the staff was. She seemed bothered. We travel a lot and have not experienced this before. Same experience with the night staff after purchasing items from the gift shop. The room was lovely. Ceiling in shower was peeling, make mirror didn’t work, but water pressure excellent. Beds very comfortable. Plenty of pillows. We enjoyed the fireplace in the room as it has a choice of heat or no heat . Cute idea with a beach bag if you don’t want your room cleaned. You leave your trash and used towels in the bag outside your door and the replenish the items in the bag. The pool is a short walk from the resort. It is enclosed by a chain linked fence overlooking a small beach. Coffee and tea available in the lobby. Water bottle refill in the lobby as well. Parking available close to the hotel and overflow across the street. Small elevator available. Breakfast comes with room with $10 fee for gratuity. Lots of options for breakfast. Make sure you arrive before 9:45 am as they stop serving breakfast at 10:00 am. Unfortunately leaned the hard way, but found Bagel Basket down the road and it was delicious. Dinner was at the hotel was wonderful. We did make reservations. Giving it 4 stars due to poor WiFi and front desk staff.

I can’t say enough about this resort. A first class experience in a natural incredibly beautiful classic Maine setting. The entire staff — reservations manager, front desk, housekeeping, & restaurant staff are all totally customer-focused and add to the experience. Incredible views, beach-front trails, cool nearby coastal towns (Ogunquit, Kennebunk, etc). Amazing breakfast at Stageneck and many good restaurants nearby ( lobster!). We’re visiting again next month (perfect place to unwind after the US Open) and have booked 2026 already. One of the best vacation spots ever.

We have been coming to the SNI for over 35yrs and have always enjoyed the stay Unfortunately there were several issues we encountered with this stay. #1 the air conditioner was incredibly noisy and hard to ignore. #2 there really should be umbrellas over the outside tables as the beating sun made it impossible to have dinner or lunch outside #3 we were seated outside on our first night (by choice as the sun had set) and had to finally go in to let someone know we had been waiting for over 30 minutes without any contact by the wait staff #4 on our second night we were initially ignored by the hostess as she was trying to explain something to a waitress. She then said if you’ll” just wait a moment” several times. We were finally seated whereupon she asked us if we had made a reservation. We said no and she said “very good” and walked away. The dining room was by no means full or busy. We took that last comment as putting us in our place for not making a reservation. Very rude we felt. That’s enough I think Thank you

We had our wedding mid July 2025 at the Stage Neck Inn. We had every aspect of our wedding ant the inn. Our bridal party and immediate family stayed there for 2-3 night, our rehearsal dinner, getting ready, wedding ceremony, reception, and after party was all at the inn. No one ever had to leave. Dawn, the bartenders, inn staff, restaurant staff, and everyone were incredible. The food is unbelievable, from the breakfast buffet to the lunch at shearwater and dinner at shearwater. We didn’t have a bad meal. The inn is so clean, smells wonderful, has incredible views, and truly puts its guests first. The rooms are special and beautiful. I can’t stop raving about how incredible our experience was, even our wedding vendors loved working with the event staff. Thank you Stage Neck Inn, you gave me the wedding of my dreams.
