Mum and I had a great 3 days staying at Settlers House. We were in one of the Heritage rooms in the rear Courtyard and it was perfect spot. The room was clean, beds comfortable and very homely. Staff where amazing and its was a very busy weekend with the York Show on but nothing was too much for them and they went above and beyond to accomodate everyone. The Outside Entertainement was brilliant the Jukes of York and the certainly pulled in the crowd. Such an amazing atmosphere at Settlers, the meals are delicious and the Pub is brilliant. York is a beautiful Town with soo much History and we will return. If you ever go to York i highly recommend Settlers House for your Accomodation

We stayed here overnight on our way from the south coast up to the Murchison. Really attentive service, lovely rooms and beds (usually a big problem for me). Great bathroom and simple kitchen setup. Toilet floor a bit slippery in our room though. Breakfast was generous (if simple), and enough for everyone to be really full and happy. Piano to play and tonnes of books, games, dvds to keep the entire family occupied. We even discovered a ps2 and an Xbox in our room in the morning (if that’s your thing) Kids loved the gardens and meeting the chooks and turkeys! Easy walk into the centre of town. We’re staying again on our return south next week and already looking forward to it! Well worth a longer stay for a family or couples getaway.
