This hotel has a great location near Minato Mirai and Landmark Tower. The room was small but had everything I needed. The view from the higher floors was fantastic. Staff were polite and efficient. The bathroom was a bit old but still clean. Wi-Fi worked well throughout my stay. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted nice. It’s very close to the station and convenient for sightseeing. The area felt safe and lively. I would stay here again for the location.
The location is superb! The environment is first-rate and it's impeccably clean. It's also very peaceful. You can open the windows for fresh air, and the views are absolutely stunning! The surrounding area is home to R&D centers of world-renowned companies. It's just a 3-minute walk from Shin-Takashima Station (Exit 2); turn right as you come out. Dining options nearby are a bit limited. Complimentary samples are available at the front desk, but they aren't proactively offered, so you need to pick them up yourself. Tea bags are provided, and the coffee is delicious! The night views are lovely!
We had a lovely stay at Yokohama Bay Hotel—the location was fantastic, with beautiful views of the bay and easy access to nearby attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel does show some signs of age, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The only minor downside was the gym, which was quite small and had limited equipment, along with unusual operating hours. That said, if you’re not relying on fitness facilities, this hotel is a great choice for a relaxing stay in Yokohama!

Hotel is very convenient with Sakuragicho station just at doorstep (entry n exit) via the new south side. Many attractions nearby and we walked to Cosmo Clock 21, Cupnoodles Museum, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yokohama World Porters etc. We also walked to the Chinatown to explore the area. Staff are very helpful and polite. Room equipped with Dyson hairdryer, humidifier and fan, and Refa shower head etc. 👍
The room was typical for an established five-star hotel, quite conventional. Their strict adherence to rules was almost obsessive-compulsive. I moved the bed against the wall because I had my child with me, but housekeeping would consistently restore it to its original position every day.
Then there was the enigmatic tissue box, always placed on the floor between the two beds. I'd move it, only for it to be returned to the exact same spot the very next day.
The location wasn't particularly convenient either; there were very few convenience stores nearby, requiring a walk of over five minutes.
Given the choice, I'd likely opt for Tokyu next time.
This is the BEST EVER hotel (in such price range) I stayed in Japan. Everything was so good, new and clean, room is spacious, very nice gym room and public pantry or call it break out area, front desk staff were so nice and since me and my husband stayed over a week time, we were upgraded to a slightly bigger room as a courtesy. It is locate at heart of Yokohama, just 10 mins walk to the China Town with lots of nice shops and restaurants. It also very close to a public park and the famous Yokohama Pier that you can have a walk or jogging if preferred fresh air and sunshines. There was a refreshment area at the entrance lobby which serves with coffee, tea and lemon water that was a great idea guest can have a drink while waiting for pick up or check-in. You can feel how considerate the management has put to make their customer feel good and as home. I will definitely stay with Citadines again when travel to other countries the brand just worth it!
Opened just a year ago after a complete renovation, this is a very modern hotel. Since all the ground-floor, ocean-facing spaces are restaurants, the hotel lobby is uniquely located on the 12th floor. This scenic lobby also doubles as a café, where guests can sit on the outdoor balcony overlooking the view. There's a designated smoking area by the side entrance of the lobby.
The facilities are brand new, and the layout is clean, spacious, and stylish. We stayed in a triple room, and even with suitcases open, there was still plenty of space – perfectly suited to Chinese guests' preferences. The bedding is high quality and available for purchase.
Let's talk about breakfast. Upon check-in, guests are informed of two options: Japanese breakfast, served at the 12th-floor café, and Western breakfast, served at the 1st-floor Western restaurant. The Japanese option offers three set menus, while the Western option features four main sets. After ordering, you can help yourself to the buffet bar for salads, drinks, bread, and more. The Western breakfast was so delicious that we didn't get a chance to try the Japanese one.
Regarding the hotel's location, opinions may vary. Most people might choose to stay in Sakuragicho or Minato Mirai, as this hotel is a bit off the beaten path, situated near Yamashita Park. The Summer Festival is held here, allowing visitors to truly experience the atmosphere of traditional Japanese festivals. The hotel faces the sea, directly opposite the Hikawa Maru ocean liner. As the only surviving international ocean liner from WWII, it's definitely worth boarding and exploring. It's a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the subway station, providing easy access to all Yokohama stops. Directly across the street is a bus stop with direct service to Haneda Airport, with buses running almost every hour. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find Takashimaya department store; Chinatown is 10 minutes away, as is a massive Don Quijote store. A lifestyle plaza is a 20-minute walk, and there's also a Montbell outlet store where we spent four hours. This outlet store offers tax-free shopping, but it requires downloading a third-party app and incurs a 3% service fee, which makes the process a bit inconvenient.
Yokohama truly lives up to its reputation as an international port city. Around the hotel, you'll find a wide array of Western restaurants, with impeccable ambiance and cuisine, and even handsome waiters. It's a very cosmopolitan city.
Location: Right next to K Arena, which is super convenient if you're attending a show. The soundproofing is also excellent. I stayed for two days, and even with performances happening both days, I couldn't hear a thing, so you can definitely rest assured about that. It's very close to Yokohama Station and SOGO, just a short stroll away. Minato Mirai is about a 30-minute walk.
Facilities: Having just opened in 2023, everything is brand new. The lobby is a tad on the smaller side, and only having two restaurants feels a bit limited. While the breakfast selection isn't vast, everything tastes great, and the freshly baked quiches and croissants are a major highlight – highly recommended!
Service: The front desk and concierge staff were all young and incredibly polite; absolutely nothing to fault there. The only thing I found puzzling was that housekeeping finishes at 5 PM, meaning room cleaning isn't possible afterward. Is even a 5-star hotel cutting corners like this?
The hotel's sky pool was advertised as a highlight, but I didn't bring my swimwear so I couldn't use it. I tried to just look around, but the front desk informed me guests could only view it from outside. From what I could tell, it didn't even seem to be an infinity pool. The room itself, however, was great. There's a convenience store on the second floor, and a Blue Bottle Coffee shop conveniently located right next to the lobby on the first floor. Unfortunately, I hadn't done enough research and ended up missing the Yokohama Fireworks Festival, which was a real shame.
We really liked this hotel! The location is fantastic - it's right next to China Town and across the street from a beautiful park connected to Yokohama stadium. The area is lovely - we wish we stayed longer! The hotel exterior is very nice and the entrance is modern and welcoming. It's also attached to a Lawson which is convenient for late night snacks. We really enjoyed this place, will definitely come back next time we are in Yokohama!

GGuest UserOur room was incredibly spacious and spotless, a rare find for a hotel in Japan. We stayed for two nights, and the generous layout of the room made our stay exceptionally comfortable. The location is fantastic: there are two convenience stores right downstairs, and Nihon-odori Station (Exit 4) is only about 500 meters away – a straightforward walk, even with luggage. We also enjoyed the cozy coffee shop near the subway entrance. What's more, the hotel is within easy walking distance to the port, and you can even stroll to the Cup Noodle Museum.
CChuankoushichahantiemuerVery old hotel, you can take a luxury bus from Haneda Airport directly, the earliest shuttle is 8:40.
Disadvantages: old facilities (cleaned); cannot use Alipay/Xin; food is Western, tastes average.
Advantages: large room area, sea view room has super beautiful scenery! ! ! There are several different restaurants, afternoon tea needs to be booked, and the overall place is very photogenic! The cocktail ”Yokohama” in the bar is delicious. Facing Yamashita Park and close to Chinatown in the north, you can eat delicious food at any time, close to many Japanese favorite attractions, full of holiday feeling. It is 200 meters away from Motomachi subway station, and it takes about 2k yen to take a taxi to Yokohama Station.
There are many Japanese old money staying in the hotel, and many decent middle-aged and elderly people come to check in, eat and take pictures. It seems to be a famous local attraction hotel.
I like it very much, and I will bring my family to stay next time
Bbzhang1This time I booked a triple room in advance, but it was actually a double room with an extra bed, which seemed quite crowded. Only one comb was provided for three people. The old hotel is located opposite Yokohama Station, and can be directly reached through the underground first or second floor bridge corridor, which is very convenient even if you have a lot of luggage. Multiple shopping malls are connected together, which is great for shopping.
Llike2travelThe hotel provides good service and close proximity to attractions. I like that the hotel provides customers to take the necessary packets of lotion, facial wash etc accordingly to one’s needs from the lobby.
RrimjunsThis is my second time staying at this hotel. I stayed here again for a live performance in Yokohama. It's close to the station and has a large public bath where you can relax, so it's very convenient and appreciated! This time, I arrived at the lobby a little before the check-in time of 3pm, but since it was the weekend before Christmas in December, there was a line of people all the way to the elevators and it was crowded, but after the staff handed out the necessary paperwork, everything went smoothly.
I would like to stay at this hotel again if I have the opportunity in Yokohama.
GGuest UserThe hotel boasts extremely convenient transportation, just a 10-minute walk from the subway station. It's perfectly situated in Yokohama Chinatown, offering abundant dining options with plenty of Chinese restaurants. As an established 5-star hotel, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the facilities are equally upscale and impressive. They even offer services in Chinese. Plus, it's only a 5-minute stroll to the seaside and Yamashita Park. I would absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Yokohama. The rooms are quite spacious, especially for Japanese standards.
GGuest UserThe service staff is very enthusiastic and the service attitude is super good! The hotel is very close to the city center and can basically reach all the attractions on foot.
Good sanitary conditions, very clean!
AAnonymous UserHotel standard as common Japanese hotel, but location was superb. Only walking distance to tourist spot, such as chinatown (no worry for eat), temple in chinatown, gundam factory, etc. Photos shown surrounding areas to Gundam Factory
DdanthetravellerI was worried after I read previous reviews but I was relieved when I got into the room. I think the bad reviews are just based on out-of-this-world preferences of some guests. My experience was great. Yes, the room is tiny, but considering the money you pay, and before booking, you’re told the size of the room, and the pictures tell you what you’re about to face. Why bother complaining? If you walk, the road is not luggage-friendly but that’s not the fault of the hotel. Check in & out was great. The room amenities were amazing. Would come back here!
