Constantinou Bros Pioneer Beach Hotel

A truly lovely week here in gorgeous weather with my parents in their late 70's. It's said in so many reviews but what makes this place special is all the staff. They literally cannot do enough for you. The food is also absolutely exceptional. Breakfast particularly, is the best display of food I have ever experienced and I holiday at least 5 times a year 4 or 5 star. The last 2/3 hotels I've been to my one gripe has been that the hot plates don't seem to keep the food warm in the buffet, but not here! Toasty hot right to the end of service! Perfect! All the way from check in, and the incredibly helpful reception team (we required a room change through absolutely no fault of the hotel... yet they sorted it patiently and with good grace and charm..... they could of told us to push off!) through the pool and entertainment staff.... the restaurant teams, and the friendly efficient cleaners, this is one special team. I wish I'd taken more individual names but it's EVERYONE! The pool is clean and tidy and inviting. The gardens incredibly smart and attractive, the bars efficient and serve promptly a good array of drinks. The white wine was lovely (so often vinegar on all inclusive, but not here!) and we couldn't of been happier. Even the quality of the sun beds was lovely, availability was good whatever time you came down, and the pool towels thick and fluffy. The rooms were quite small by Egypt/Caribbean type standards, but had everything you needed in good working order. Comfy mid hard beds. It's quite a long way to Paphos town, not really a suitable stroll for nearly 80 year olds, however it certainly is flat and well paved and lit, and worth a wander in. The buses are super. Just be careful tho, a taxi IN booked by the hotel was 8 euros. The taxi home got on a rank was 18 euros and he wouldn't negotiate! Partly My fault for not asking at the start of the journey I suppose! The evening entertainment was low key singers and so on but very professional and enjoyable. It was a shame that there was rarely enough seats in the entertainment area up at reception, in the Marco Polo bar, and so you'd have to sit outside, which was fine, but folks insisted on the doors being shut, and they literally were sound proof! So you'd sit in silence and some guests got quite aggressive if you tried to wedge them open saying they were 'getting a draught' and they'd slam them shut. A minor point but very frustrating. Generally absolutely fab. I'd take my parents (who are very demanding!) back in a heartbeat. Walking past all the neighbouring hotels pool areas one by one, going to Paphos, by goodness I liked ours best! The others looked like overcrowded Butlins places with pumping music and shrieking kids.

First time at this hotel and the most outstanding thing was the staff, so attentive and the food, especially the Asian cuisine which Deb supplied us with, every lunchtime and nearly every evening was outstanding and so fresh and healthy. The beach was okay apart from the work going on most mornings with huge JCB's cutting down the trees right beside our lounger, which had to be moved until they were finished. It was so difficult getting into the sea, it was not shingle but huge rocks and very dangerous,even with the rubber shoes you had to go in very, very slowly and getting out was even worse. The gym was very disappointing, it was not a state of the art gym as advertised. Just was not up to spec. On the whole very clean and very relaxing.

We stayed at the Pioneer Beach from 11th to 18th May, this was our second visit to this hotel, we brought friends for their first visit and they thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, we had sea view rooms on the third floor and they were very well equipped and had good views of the pool area and the sea, everything in the hotel was perfect from the food selection to the branded drink selection, the rooms were kept spotless by the house keeping staff, the bar staff ,and restaurant staff can’t do enough to make your stay as perfect as possible . The only thing I could find that needs attention is the large white screens that are moved about for various events keep blowing over when there’s a gust of wind, they could be made more secure by having concrete weights at the bottom, other than that our stay was very pleasant and we’ll certainly be back at Pioneer .

Lovely hotel, but more importantly excellent staff, from waiters, cleaners and reception they cannot do enough for you. Food is excellent with something for everyone, an omelette station at breakfast or fresh eggs, boiled, poached or fried. If you don’t have much appetite at breakfast there’s always toast, fruit, cereal etc. we ate most lunchtime in the Regina/thalassa restaurant and once in the evening for the Mediterranean menu of which we had jack Daniel’s ribs which were melt in the mouth gorgeous. Bedrooms are spacious it did take a bit of getting used to the opaque glass wall and in the middle of night if you put the light on it can disturb the person sleeping but if you can go without the light on then no problem. There’s a lovely walk to Paphos harbour which is about 40-45 mins but it’s lovely and flat and would recommend, a taxi back is €12.

Currently still here, a lovely holiday so far. We have a suite on the 4th floor and the service has been amazing, all the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. I would recommend it although if you're after a lively holiday, this isn't the place for you. The night entertainment isn't great, although they try, but it is just a little out of the way for us, not much to do if you want to explore.

Always have a grear time been our 9th time here .Staff are all amazing very helpful. Vallia reception manager is a credit to this hotel.
