Bungalow 618 at The Mirage Resort & Spa, October 2024 As a heads up, my partner and I are in our 60's & booked our week long A/I holiday via TUI. ARRIVAL We arrived on the evening of 13/10 & our first impressions from the front of the hotel was very good. A member of staff took our cases from the coach & led us to reception. Reception ladies gave us a really nice welcome & were very professional. We received a piece of paper with details of where we could eat/drink & the opening times. The staff member who met us from the coach showed us to our bungalow which was a short walk past the pools. THE BUNGALOW This is semi-detached & enter you enter into a decent size lounge with a large sofa, a comfortable chair, pouffe/come coffee table, tiled floors, a TV with two English film channels, an empty fridge inside a unit with a drawer, above is a kettle, mint tea bags, coffee, sugar & two small cups. Large sliding door to terrace with a two chairs, a clothes dryer & outside light. Off one side of the lounge is a toilet which is separate from the bathroom which is next door. This has a single basin with enough space for toiletries either side, a large mirror above & two plug points. There is a spacious walk in shower with a small obscured glass window. The bedroom is next door to the bathroom, there is a from super.king sized bed with side tables, another large wardrobe a small table which has a lift up lid with mirror where you can store your make up & get ready there as it has a comfortable chair too. Sliding glass door to terrace. No tv. Cleaned well daily and bedding changed once/twice by our amazing lady. Tea bags etc replenished daily also. AROUND THE HOTEL Really lovely, clean infinity pools area. All with different vibes. Children's pool good, middle pool for activities and another with a more chilled out and relaxed feel, all with plenty of comfortable sunloungers. Cabanas also available in the latter. Lovely gardens kept really well by the unbelievably hard-working staff which were mostly ladies. A bar is close by for drinks/snacks. Waiter or self service for whichever you prefer. Drinks are good. RESTAURANT Felt very much like a breakfast room with quite basic tables/chairs but also a pleasant outdoor terrace with comfort chairs and a nicer feel. Food was okay but not brilliant. Same vegetable soup available for three days, not great as one of us is a vegetarian. Pasta station including pizzas at lunch/dinner and various meats/stews &veg. Salad bar just okay. Waiter service for drinks. These guys work really hard and the majority really pleasant and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. They all have their own group of tables to look after. Breakfast had poor choice of cereal as it was very childlike selection. Fruit selection was the poorest I've ever seen with only apples, plums and oranges which were mostly dried up. Missed good fruit selection to have with yogurt at breakfast and with dessert at dinner. Crepes were good at breakfast an

According to Tunisia’s location, architecture, and friendliness, the room is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. The room is large and clean (I pay tribute to Faïza, the maid like a bee, and look at the cleanliness of the room And I thank her for the maintenance of the technicians, because they repaired the heating, they are very smiling and friendly, in addition to the Moorish cafe (I invited her as many as her colleagues), a group of young people also appeared in the animation. In the restaurant, the staff is the most helpful, and the dishes are varied, especially the ”Lemlaoui” dishes made by ladies. On the other hand, the windows of the rooms are very windy due to the lack of seams.
Tui Magic Life Africana

Arrival: Prior to arrival we filled in the check in form on the magic life app, which meant our check in was extremely smooth. We arrived late evening around 9pm, we went straight for food and then we were taken to our room with our suitcases brought by a member of staff. Easy & quick. Room: We had a standard family room which included a double, single and a cot. The room was spacious and very basic. We were on the ground floor we had quite a few ants in the room but being on the ground floor with a terrace we expected this. Room came with a stocked mini fridge. Our bathroom had a hairdryer and wash/shampoo and very large mirrors. Pools: We visited off peak in October so there was plenty of sun-beds to go around and you could always get a space by the pool. All pools were large and were cleaned regularly. There was one day where the main activity pool was “out of order” due to the chemical balance. Pools were cold but still warm enough to swim in and given the hot days it was nice to cool off. The grass areas around the pool needed to be cleaned more regular as there was a lot of rubbish and cigarette buts lying around. Food: Basic and nothing special in the main buffet restaurant. Lunch time food was far better than any of the evening buffets. If you tip the staff they will keep your table for you every night with drinks and anything else you needed e.g high chair. The staff were outstanding, polite and brilliant with the kids. Breakfast was pretty poor however the bread rolls were fresh most mornings and the pancakes were a massive hit with us! Speciality restaurants were ok, we stayed 2 weeks and only managed to get into each restaurant once due to them being booked up so fast. Entertainment: Kids club run twice daily our little one didn’t want to go due purely the amount of people that spoke little to no English. There wasn’t a lot going on during the day that included everyone. Most of the games around the pool were for ages 12+. However they always done a pool side activity around 11:30/12 which then run into their lunch time song for everyone to get involved with a singsong and dance. Kids disco started late most nights around 8/9pm depending on the day, but the staff got everyone involved for this and it was enjoyable for everyone involved. They had a pianist every night at the waunder bar he was brilliant and we listened most nights. The entertainment staff would put on a show every couple of nights which was good to watch. Magic Life: With magic life being all about activities and water sports, there was a lot of these going on. However no fault of the hotel due to the weather and the waves at the sea during our stay the water sports were none existent. We did manage to get on the banana boat once. Not included in the hotel on the beach they offer jet ski & parasailing which we did at a cost. Negative Experience: 1. There was a “regular” guest who assaulted us after we confronted them about their child strangling and hitt

Had a few issues with ants and the tap water smelling like sewerage but were promptly moved and all issues sorted out very kindly by a lovely member of reception. Had a lovely stay, the bar, waiters and entertainment staff were absolutely amazing and very welcoming. Had such a lovely week, the staff mentioned above are a credit to the hotel. Now for the part that took all of that away…as we were waiting for our coach at the end of our stay we were approached by an incredibly rude woman and accused of stealing a towel and a glass? from our room, this was done using one of the gentleman that sold trips to translate for her, incredibly rude and was done infront of a group of people we had met! I have never been so embarrassed, I would never return to this hotel whilst that woman is in the hotel, completely ruined what had been a positive and lovely week away. Very unprofessional and certainly not expected, I have never nor would I ever steal, so to the lady which I unfortunately didn’t catch her name you need teaching manners and learning customer service because your skills are atrocious and you shouldn’t be in that industry with an attitude like yours.

Disappointing for this price and for a 4 stars hotel. Room was barely acceptable, clearly not cleaned below the beds, no glasses, no towels, soap and shampoo containers almost if not empty upon arrival and were not filled at all during our stay. Towels were a nightmare to get: sometimes just enough, sometimes missing one, sometimes missing two. Getting an iron was a battle and forget about laundry service. Requests were not always met with a nice answer, they painted a room next to ours taking no precautions, getting the smell far into ours. Lunch was excruciatingly expensive for the area, forget about it. Included breakfast and dinner were OK. Location was very nice, although the surroundings are a bit dead..
