The island itself is absolutely stunning—peaceful, secluded, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We genuinely enjoyed the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, which were definitely the highlights of our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but there were several service issues that impacted our overall experience. We had scheduling and communication problems with a spa appointment, which was frustrating. After bringing it to the attention of the General Manager, she was very understanding and offered us a complimentary session, which we appreciated. It showed the team was trying, but staff training and consistency still need work. Our room was nice and spacious, and we initially looked forward to staying in a deluxe beachfront bure. However, we were disappointed to find that we couldn’t actually see the beach from our room due to thick bushes and trees blocking the view. In addition, there were quite a few bugs in the room, and the towels provided were old and stained, which really took away from the sense of luxury. Unfortunately, the food was another major letdown. The selection was very limited, and the freshness was questionable. Toward the end of our stay, both of us experienced digestion issues that we believe may have been related to the food. On our final night, the lobster served was not fresh, and the only replacement offered was a basic menu item—which felt disappointing and not in line with the level of service expected from a 4.5-star resort. We also booked a beach picnic lunch, which turned out to be a disaster. We were dropped off at a beach with visible trash and debris, and the “setup” was just two mats and a pillow placed off to the side. We voiced our concerns to the GM, who apologized and attempted to reschedule the experience. However, due to bad weather, we couldn’t do it another day. This brings us to a key point: most guests are only here for a short period, and weather is always a factor. So getting things right the first time is crucial—there’s often no second chance to make it up. The resort must be better prepared and more attentive from the outset, especially given the high price point and strong reputation it carries. Overall, while the island is beautiful and the staff tried to make things right, the resort needs to improve significantly in terms of food quality, room maintenance, staff training, and attention to detail to truly live up to its luxury branding.
