We booked these rooms on the ******* website. We arrived at the resort in the late afternoon of April 26, 2025 on the last flight into Yasawa. We checked into our rooms and noticed many inconsistencies with the luxury that was communicated on the Yasawa Island Resort and ******* websites. The room was hot. There was a tiny wall AC unit above the bed which was not adequate to cool the whole room. We found bugs and spiders of many types throughout the room. We also found lizards and geckos on the ceilings and corners. The room was not even close to luxury and was not clean. We immediately complained with hotel staff with no real attention given to our complaint. As it was late and we could not leave the island until the next morning, we suffered through the night at the resort. The next morning we once again voiced our concerns with no resolution. We checked out at the front desk and took the next available flight from Yasawa to Fiji. This resort is not the luxury presented on Yasawa Island Resort or Expedia's website. Do your self a favor and stay on the main island at a reputable resort.

My wife and I just enjoyed a one-week stay at the Yasawa Island Resort. Our experience was entirely favorable from start to finish. The first thing I will say is that I am in complete disbelief that there are reviews here that complain about the food and the service. Our experience with the food and the service was stellar in every way. The food was excellent without exception, with three meals per day provided at this all-inclusive resort. The breakfast was standard fare, eggs, omelets, avocado toast, oatmeal, yogurt, and sides such as bacon or hash browns or smoked salmon. There were numerous menu choices and a daily breakfast special available. Lunch was a two course meal with a main and a dessert. The menu only had three items for the main course and two items for the dessert, but the menu changed daily so that there was always something new to try and never any repeats on the menus throughout the week. The mains always included a seafood dish, a different protein dish - either beef or chicken or pork, or a vegetarian dish. The dessert choices were always delicious. Dinner was a three course meal with two choices for appetizer, three choices for the main, and two choices for dessert. Again, the menu rotated every day so we never had the same offerings twice. The presentation and plating of the meals was very impressive, what one might expect in a very upscale restaurant. The food was delicious and we found ourselves often trading plates halfway through in order to enjoy the other meal option. We can't make enough positive comments about the food. The service at the restaurant was leisurely paced. Some might say slow but I would disagree. It was a leisurely pace that allowed us to enjoy every bite and totally enjoy the surroundings and the view. The service was most outstanding. This is a small resort with only about 18 rooms, and the staff made every effort to learn our names and call us by name. Whether it was the servers for the meals, the activities coordinators, the support staff, the front desk staff, the housekeeping staff, the groundskeepers or the baristas, we always had a warm hello and often a delightful conversation with the staff taking personal interest in us and our family back home. We have enjoyed the hospitality at many other resorts in the past, but the hospitality at the Yasawa Island Resort was clearly second to none. We even had nearly daily visits with the General Manager, who circulated during meal times and relax-by-the-pool times and happy hour, and she was always attentive and always asked if there was anything we needed in our room or otherwise. She was never intrusive, however, and a delight to talk with. The pool, by the way, was beautiful and the pool furniture was updated and well-kept. The activities were great and the activities staff was always helpful and kind and attentive, and genuinely concerned about our experience and our safety. We had several beach picnics with the who

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Yasawa during our honeymoon. Absolutely beautiful. Incredible staff. We stayed for 7 nights but would have stayed another week. Every night at happy hour they give you the planned activities for the next day, but you are not obligated to participate (although, we would recommend them). From snorkeling to exploring the caves to visiting the village, they truly make every moment paradise. The staff is beyond comparable. Smiga will put a smile on anyone's face and Sammi's Mojito's are out of this world good. The food is some of the best food we've had in the world. We highly recommend the private beach picnic. It's an absolute MUST. 10/10!

A wonderful unique experience in a tropical secluded resort like no other! Where we got to have our own secluded white sand miles of beach for the day, with snorkeling where giant squid and clams were spotted along with all the amazing colorful corals and aquarium fish! Back by the resorts boat to enjoy the excellent messages side by side on our bungalows deck! And then off to enjoy an awesome cuisine with friendly staff attending and watch the sun set! Then to retire to one of only 18 beautiful bungalows tucked along the sea front. An awesome experience we would recommend for those looking for a tropical escape in a luxury resort!

If you want a 5 Star beach holiday, go to Hawaii or the Riviera and stay in a swanky hotel with marble and crystal everywhere, glamour, a formal dining room and all the luxury trimmings. If you want a real beach holiday with real atmosphere and island culture, go to Fiji. In particular, go to Yasawa Island Resort. It is beautiful. It is Fijian and it is authentic. Some of the bures are right on the beach and some are back further from the beach with only grass and vegetation between the Bure and the beach. The bures themselves are all mostly the same. They are spacious with a sitting area, up a few steps to a large bedroom and then through to a big bathroom and dressing room. There is also a lovely private outdoor shower. A wooden deck stretches across the front. The view is beautiful - taking in the beach from 7 of the 15 bures and grass, greenery, palm trees and ocean from the others. Whilst modern, spacious and comfortable inside, the thatched roofs and unmanicured gardens give a glorious, rustic, Fijian feel to the whole place. The food is delicious, but not over elaborate and fancy. If your holiday requires really gourmet food, go elsewhere. The resort is set on a long beach which is ideal for people who like walking along the beach each day. The water is crystal clear and blue and a lovely, inviting temperature. You can go by motorboat to several lovely beaches along the coast with a delicious picnic lunch to enjoy on your own. Only one couple can be on any beach at one time. There are plenty of places to snorkel and there is also scuba-diving available. There is a spa for those who wish to be pampered and a lovely big swimming pool for those who do not wish to swim on the beach. Every single staff member looking after us was absolutely delightful. They were friendly, warm and always willing to help. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. We will most certainly be going back, probably several more times!

Definitely not 5*, at best maybe 3! The resort is in urgent need of an update. The rooms are full of bugs, spiders, centipede, moths and wasps. Stayed 7 night, never had sheets changed. The pool and surrounding area, needs updating. The food is absolutely terrible! Service is not great. For the price we paid, they should be ashamed!

5 star pricing, 2.5 star delivery. Fiji is a special place. Especially the outer islands. Most resorts are staffed by the local villages. This is the best part. The staff were what made the best part of the trip. They really want to make the place work. From bar to housekeeping to the amazing activities crew, they tried their very best. The Downside, resort management were mostly non-existent apart from the first day check in and when you had to pay at check out. It’s evident they know the issues and don’t want to confront them. The place is tired and does not justify the very premium price they are charging. The roof thatch on our bure was literally falling down on a daily basis, we checked and our sheets were not changed the entire 7 day stay. Not acceptable when you have forked out nearly $14,000 AUD for 2 for a week. I will go elsewhere, and I’ve racked up over 50 trips to Fiji. Sad as it was a great place when initially built.

The island itself is absolutely stunning—peaceful, secluded, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We genuinely enjoyed the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, which were definitely the highlights of our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but there were several service issues that impacted our overall experience. We had scheduling and communication problems with a spa appointment, which was frustrating. After bringing it to the attention of the General Manager, she was very understanding and offered us a complimentary session, which we appreciated. It showed the team was trying, but staff training and consistency still need work. Our room was nice and spacious, and we initially looked forward to staying in a deluxe beachfront bure. However, we were disappointed to find that we couldn’t actually see the beach from our room due to thick bushes and trees blocking the view. In addition, there were quite a few bugs in the room, and the towels provided were old and stained, which really took away from the sense of luxury. Unfortunately, the food was another major letdown. The selection was very limited, and the freshness was questionable. Toward the end of our stay, both of us experienced digestion issues that we believe may have been related to the food. On our final night, the lobster served was not fresh, and the only replacement offered was a basic menu item—which felt disappointing and not in line with the level of service expected from a 4.5-star resort. We also booked a beach picnic lunch, which turned out to be a disaster. We were dropped off at a beach with visible trash and debris, and the “setup” was just two mats and a pillow placed off to the side. We voiced our concerns to the GM, who apologized and attempted to reschedule the experience. However, due to bad weather, we couldn’t do it another day. This brings us to a key point: most guests are only here for a short period, and weather is always a factor. So getting things right the first time is crucial—there’s often no second chance to make it up. The resort must be better prepared and more attentive from the outset, especially given the high price point and strong reputation it carries. Overall, while the island is beautiful and the staff tried to make things right, the resort needs to improve significantly in terms of food quality, room maintenance, staff training, and attention to detail to truly live up to its luxury branding.
