The George Hotel was one of several stops on our mother-daughter trip through England, and it definitely stood out for its charm and hospitality. The island is beautiful, and the hotel itself had plenty of character—we especially loved the George-themed pictures throughout. Our room was lovely, and the staff were superb: not only friendly and capable but genuinely funny, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and really enjoyed the meal—delicious and well-presented. That said, a few practical notes for future travelers: parking is offsite and quite expensive, especially once you factor in the cost of the ferry to the island. We’d recommend staying for a night or two—it’s a great spot to relax or do a few scenic walks, but unless you’re an avid hiker, two days is probably plenty. Overall, a delightful place with top-notch service!

Great, fast service, especially considering a very busy Saturday lunchtime with no booking. Lovely chilled holiday vibe and happy, helpful staff. Very good food and the yatchsman ale was also very nice. Lovely surroundings in the garden area. Can’t fault it.

Lovely vibe and view but shockingly bad service. I’m really quite a patient and understanding person but when splashing out for a fairly expensive treat, I would expect better. Drinks were completely forgotten and when pointed out to our server, met with a blank look and no apology. The place didn’t seem at capacity by any means, and lots of staff serving, yet it was slow, thoughtless, and became the main topic of conversation amongst our group. I’d have even been unhappy with such service at a Pizza Hut it was that bad. Food was ok. Overpriced but nice enough. Such a shame as we had decided to really push the boat out and treat ourselves and we were left very disappointed.

Fabulous spot next to Yarmouth pier and adjacent to where the ferry docks The pub opens onto the waterfront with a very tastefully designed garden with tables amidst olive trees over looking the water. We only had drinks but if the weathers good and the sun is shining this is the place to be. Very friendly and helpful staff and also fully accessible toilets

Had a great Sunday-Tuesday stay at the George to celebrate 25 years of marriage. Nothing better than having a bottle of rose in the sunshine in the garden overlooking the sea - just stunning. The room was lovely, the staff great and the food was delicious! A fabulous stay!

Recently revamped. The garden area has fantastic views of the western tasteful bar area. Unfortunately the rest of it fails to meet any reasonable standard of service. Over priced mediocre drinks indifferent staff We paid £22 for a bog standard keg beer and a medium wine. Its table service paid up front then waited 20 m for it to arrive. We weren't alone friends had the same experience and over charged by £200 !!. Staff standing about chit chatting while people waited for drinks. The view is nice but the rest is poor. The Bugle is much better value and if you want real quality then go to The Hut
