It took me almost two days to look for a hotel in Yangshuo. Almost all the homestays here have been renovated with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering mountain or river views, which became a bit boring after looking at them for a long time. My eyes lit up when I saw Shanshui Shengmei Hotel. It is so different from other B&Bs that only have one or a few buildings. The huge space is surrounded by mountains. The winding pool flows through the large lawn in front of the guest room area. The white pointed tents further highlight its difference from other homestays here. Because I was worried that the tent was not soundproof, I chose a diamond-shaped wooden loft house halfway up the mountain that was farthest from the exit but closest to the back mountain. I felt like I had realized my long-cherished dream of living in a tree house. January is the off-season in Yangshuo, and my friend and I actually booked this hotel! Living far away from the crowd is perfect except for being a little scared at night. I wake up every morning to the sound of birds singing in the back mountain, and when I open the curtains I can see the warm winter sunshine. Standing on the second floor of the loft, I can see the entire hotel. It feels great to overlook everything! You can also see the twinkling stars in the sky at night~ For breakfast, you can choose between Chinese and Western styles, and each has two choices. I like Chinese food, so I ate Chinese food for the two days I stayed here. The taste was very good and there were many varieties~ I plan to stay here again next time!
