Senjukaku

The hotel is located near the Snow Monkey Park and is within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is very service-oriented, and this Japanese inn has indoor and outdoor hot springs and swimming pools. The breakfast and dinner are very rich and delicious.

A wonderful hotel near the snow monkey park. The service is second to none, the rooms are fantastic and huge, the food is wonderful and the onsen is beyond anything you can imagine.  We only booked for one night because we were visiting the monkey park and were very sad to have to leave after just one day. I recommend a longer stay to everyone!

Senjukaku is located at the Jigoku Monkey Park bus stop, just a few hundred meters away in the direction of the Monkey Park. This is an old hot spring hotel, and the Japanese emperor, empress, prince, princess, etc. have stayed here several times. The hotel upholds traditional Japanese service. When checking in, a staff member will take us all the way to the room, while introducing the various rooms and uses of the hotel. After taking us into the room, he will introduce the rooms and uses of the room in detail. The hotel allows you to enjoy tea while watching the snow scenery outside, and the scenery is superb. I won't get tired of sitting here for a whole day. We booked a set meal for one night and two meals. We went to the hot spring before dinner. The outdoor hot spring here is beautiful. Soaking in the warm spring, watching the pine trees under the snow, the mist floating, and the trance of the fairyland-Is it because of this that Senjukaku is called? After soaking in the hot spring and having dinner, we arrived at the restaurant. The staff immediately led the way. The two of us had a special private room, and a staff member Toshi served us throughout the whole process. The hotel's dinner is Japanese kaiseki cuisine, with wine and tea, a total of ten dishes. After finishing a dish, Toshi would remove it and serve a new dish. The ingredients of the dishes are limited to the season, and the dishes eaten in each season are different. She would help introduce the origin and eating methods of each dish in detail, which was considerate and warm. But she spoke Japanese, and I could only rely on her few English words and gestures to understand how to eat each dish. Each dish was very exquisite, but because there were so many styles, I was still very full in the end! I have been to Japan four times, and this is the first time I have truly experienced Japanese kaiseki cuisine, which is really satisfying! The hotel has Japanese and Western breakfasts, which can be chosen when checking in, and the time to eat is chosen. The hotel's service is very meticulous. I made tea twice in the room. They washed and restored the tea set when making the bed, and restored it again when making the bed the next day. And the cleaning was done the next day, and even the flowers were replaced. In addition to the normal facilities in the room, there are nail clippers, sewing kits and other small items that you may use. These details make customers full of warmth. We didn't want to go out when we stayed in the hotel. If I have the chance, I want to stay there again, so I won’t go anywhere, just stay in the hotel and stare blankly.

1) The location is not very convenient. If you are not going to Hell Valley Park or want to find a quiet place in the mountains, don't consider it. Basically, after 6 o'clock, there are no cars anywhere, not even Uber, so you can only rely on your feet. It takes 1.5 hours to go to Nagano Station and back. 2) The hotel's food is so unstable. The dinner on the first night was terrible, but it was delicious on the second day. I was speechless. 3) The hot spring is very good, the room facilities are good, and the lobby view is also good. The staff were very enthusiastic. The old man who made the beds talked to me for a long time in broken English with gestures and said that Yang Zi's "Sweet Heart" was very good and he watched the drama every day. 😂😂😂
