The environment is warm and relaxing, comfortable and clean. It can be seen that the owner of the hotel is very careful in running the hotel. The public bath has a sense of history and is very comfortable to soak in. Food is average.

大浴場＆露天の桃山風呂は、登録文化財で建物には風情がある。湯は透明アルカリ性の源泉掛け流しであるが、露天の方は広すぎるせいか温度が低すぎた。部屋は本館５Fだったが、3人で10畳＋7畳の二間で十分広く満足。但し食事は夕食の肉は固く、メニューも工夫がなく凡庸だった。また朝食は貧弱で価格に見合わないと思う。接客は良かったと思う。貸し切りサウナ風呂もあるが別料金である。

Our stay started off well with a shuttle pick up from the station. The traditional look and style of the Yorozuya is beautiful. My husband and I booked the private spa for 2 hours our first night and it only cost $100 for us both to use. The private spa was absolutely amazing and even though it was modern compared to everything else, I loved that it was a private all inclusive experience that my husband and I could enjoy the baths and sauna together at our leisure. They provide drinks inside too which was very refreshing. The only downsides were the room's furnishings (futon, chairs) and bathrooms needed some serious updating. I suppose you don't use them as much since you're in the the baths outside, but the futons were not soft enough for my back, so it was hard to sleep. The walls and carpeting also need updating and small repairs need to be done (our sliding door's handle immediately fell off when trying to use).The food was also a bit outdated and dinner took forever to complete. Overall, we really did enjoy our stay, but feel there are some easy improvements that could be made to make the experience more enjoyable and comfortable. The staff were all friendly though and breakfast was tasty and much quicker than dinner, thankfully. I would recommend trying this ryokan!

歴史ある木造の桃山風呂は一見の価値あり。お湯は若干の電解質と硫酸・炭酸イオンを含んでいるようだが、無味無臭で少しヌメリを感じる程度の優しいお湯。硫黄泉のような特徴あるお湯が好みの人には物足りないかも。食事はおいしく量も十分で、サービスもよい。各住宅にお風呂がない湯田中らしく、共同浴場が徒歩圏内に多数あり宿泊客も利用できる。
