Yamanouchi Hotels with Bars

Our family made a special trip from Tokyo to Nagano, and besides exploring the surrounding attractions, watching the snow monkeys soaking in the hot springs of Nozawa, and visiting the Togakushi Shrine, the highlight of this trip was staying at Issa no Komichi Biyu no Yado. Initially, we had modest expectations, thinking of it as just another experience. However, upon arriving in the snowy Yudanaka Shibu Onsen, we were immediately impressed by the warm and professional hospitality. From the thoughtful reception to the exquisite dinner and the unique public onsen, every aspect exceeded our expectations and left us pleasantly surprised. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Japanese onsen culture. If you’re planning a trip to Nagano, this is definitely a place worth visiting to experience the perfect blend of hot springs and nature!

The hotel is elegantly decorated, with exquisite furnishings and a very Japanese style. The hotel is about 500 meters away from Yudanaka Station. It is not in the same location as the Shibu Onsen Street and the hotel group near Yudanaka Station. It is a slightly deserted location. This Japanese-style river view room has a large area, is very warm in the room, and the window view is also unique. The room facilities are also complete, and there are drinks and snacks for check-in. However, the Japanese tatami feels a bit hard, and the pillow feels bumpy when sleeping. The sound insulation is poor, and you can hear footsteps upstairs. The breakfast is relatively rich, but there are more Japanese meals, and I am not used to it. The overall feeling is still good.

It was a very fun 2 nights and 3 days! It was the time of check-in that I was worried about before going. It was from 16 o'clock and I thought it was late ～. Arrived before 15 o'clock. If you thought you would go skiing as it was after check-in, you were ready for the room, so I was able to pass it. Thank you for upgraded to ”this is convenient”. I was happy with the room with a high top floor with a high ceiling and a snowy view. It was easy to get in and out of the ski locker and come back from skiing. I was happy with the air spray at the entrance of the ski area. I enjoyed the sunset from the bath and the pool. 3 days, we were able to enjoy it ＼ (^-^) ／

It's a 10 mins walk uphill from train station so maybe better to try to contact them for a complimentary pick up. The place is super grand and 2 onsens. A Instagram worthy one that the males and females get to use it at different timings. The shower stuff in the onsen are mediocre though. No fancy facial stuff for women unlike some other onsens at this price range. We had breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights. And well worth it. But you have to follow a fixed timing and we felt a bit rushed but otherwise it was really great and service perfect. We had one the biggest rooms I believe Room 716. Had a sitting area and also a sleeping area. Easily fits 8 persons. We were only 2. In the day they kept the futons and brought it out at night. Towels changed every night. There is a van that goes straight to Mount Yokoteyama ski resort. The receptionist didn't seem to know about it but you could try to Google. It was a complimentary ride to and fro if you bought the lift tickets. Took only like 30 mins to get there. You can get rentals at hotels there.

More traditional Japanese-style hotel, dinner is eaten at the izakaya opposite, there are packages and a la carte to choose from, OK, relatively quiet, breakfast is simple, there is bread coffee juice, if you can be rich, it is better

The hotel's room is not very large, probably because it is the relationship of the ski hotel, so what equipment, can only say that. However, the back door of the hotel is directly a ski lift, so it is very convenient

The location of the hotel is close to Yudanaka Station,only 4-minute walk.The twin room is spacious and comfortable,but the area near the window is slightly cold.The onsen is clean and spacious.View woman outdoor onsen ia great,can clearly see the mountains.The kaiseki dinner was very deicious.We are very impressed with Tsubakino Hotel.

I am from Hong Kong, but I did not stay in this hotel. Originally I booked Villa Ichinose, but 3 days before departure I received an email from Villa Ichinose saying that due to a problem with the room's machinery, they would arrange to move me to another hotel called Mount Shiga. I stayed in a tatami room in that hotel and there were no chairs. After skiing all day, I had to sit on a mattress on the ground to rest. I need an extra pillow to make my lower back more comfortable. When I opened the door where the pillows and quilts were placed and took out a pillow, I was stunned. The pillow was dirty, full of saliva stains, yellow and moldy. I believe it hadn't been cleaned for at least a month to be so dirty and noticeable. Such sanitary conditions make me very uneasy. I took pictures of the pillow and room key to prove it. My main point is that the person in charge of Villa Ichinose should not have transferred me to a very old and unhygienic hotel. I can't comment on other aspects because I didn't stay there. But the location is very good, right next to the Ichinose bus stop, and the hotel environment is nice (because I was going to this hotel to pick up my snowboard bag, so I went in to take a look).

The hotel is very convenient. There is a ski locker downstairs opposite the ski resort. It is also convenient to go to all the major ski resorts, and there is a bus stop not far from the door. The hotel is still very warm overall, the hot spring is very clean, and it is also the activity venue of the photographer club, with many beautiful photography works. The room is not small, the bed is comfortable, but the bathroom is a little small. There are not many places to eat nearby, but the hotel's breakfast and dinner are not bad, but you need to make an appointment in advance (dinner must be made at 6:00 a day in advance), and there is a bar on the second floor where you can make tea or grind coffee by yourself. Overall, I am very satisfied, except that I eat less. The waiter at the front desk is a little cold and sticks to the principle (for example, if you go to make an appointment for the next day's dinner at 18:10, you will not be allowed to make an appointment...) I will consider staying here next time!
