This hotel was booked for us by Y.E.S. Yakushima tours and it was a great choice that we really enjoyed. If you've stayed at a non-chain hotel that has been around a while you know not to expect the Ritz. It's a little worn down, but it's clean and safe and the staff are great. Our room was a traditional Japanese-style with lots of room and the most beautiful view of the mountains and the Anbo river! There are public baths separated by gender you can soak in which was nice. We didn't have dinner there (which we probably should have since the restaurant selection within walking distance is minimal) but had breakfast every morning and it was always tasty and filling.

(The towel didn't smell strange) I was planning to board the boat early in the morning, so I chose only dinner for meals. The dinner, the tobio and the kama baked were delicious! I was impressed because I ate the tobio for the first time. I often see it flying in the local Mie sea, but I was happy that I had never eaten it because it wasn't harvested much. It is also good to be close to A Coop. The reception of the wife in the cafeteria is also natural and very good.
