Hotels near Port Miyanoura, Yakushima

I booked a western-style twin room with an old decoration, but it basically meets my needs. The hotel is close to the port and provides free round-trip transfers from the airport. You can also rent mountaineering equipment at the hotel. The staff is very polite and enthusiastic. Overall, this hotel is a very good choice for tourists who want to save trouble.

It is close to Miyanoura Port and on the side of the road, very easy to find. The homestay is Japanese style, using public baths and toilets. Stations, information centers, supermarkets, and various restaurants are nearby, making travel very convenient. It is also convenient to get to the attractions by car.

This homestay is a two-story building, not far from the port and supermarket, there is a bus stop at the door, very suitable for people who travel freely on Yakushima. The room was small, the hostess was very clean, several rooms lived in different groups, and the shared bathroom was not crowded.

The boss has several homestays with similar locations but different types. I booked a relatively new house this time. The clean and sanitary facilities are good. I saw many Western guests staying. The homestay shares baths and toilets but is very clean. About 15 minutes walk to the most prosperous Pugang on Ukushima

The rice looked delicious and added breakfast. Choice without regret Although the large bath is small, there are all the things, but the sauna is not operated due to the corona effect. Friendly owner and convenient parking, and there is a mart right in front of you, which is a good choice. However, due to the characteristics of Yakushima, where it rains a lot, it would be nice if there were tools to dry hiking boots in the accommodation, but this place has a strong ryokan personality, so if you are looking for hiking, it would be better to review other accommodations.

This Minshuku is well located on the main road between airport and Miyanoura. If you don’t plan to drive, you can take the bus from the airport and will arrive in about 15 min at the Kokumae bus stop ( bus stop in front of the high school) . The bus stop is just in front of the Minshuku. Bus ride costs ¥200. The overall condition of the Minshuku is good. The double room that we had was about 100 sqft, with a wash basin inside the room which is good. The futon were comfortable and blankets were warm. Toilet and shower are shared but they were very clean. Dining area is nice and comfortable. Dinner is excellent with local food. There is free coffee and tea in the reception. The Minshuku offer rental for hiking shoes if you don’t have any. Overall I would recommend this place for the great location and price.

We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers! We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down. Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find. Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!

The location was a little confusing, but the inside was large and comfortable. There was also a game, so the children were overjoyed.

I like this homestay very much, the owner is a kind Japanese guy. There are no barriers to communication in English. Run by a family of three, the older grandpa feels like a carpenter and a craftsman. The wooden house and furniture should be built and made by themselves. The old woman is in charge of logistics and helps tidy and clean the room. The guy is responsible for Zhang Luo guests, contact and communication. If it is not peak season, the boss is happy to pick up guests at the dock. The hotel is a two-minute walk from Niu Chuang Park Station and it is very convenient to go to Baigu Yunshui Gorge. But going to Miyanoura Port is a bit inconvenient. You have to walk to the Acroop supermarket and take the bus. But because his house is really unique and great, so the location is not so convenient. This can be ignored (๑˙ー˙๑) In short, it is a great homestay, the owner and his family are amiable, and there is one The white cat named Ah Jiang is so gentle and cute. It can be hugged and won't scratch people at all 😊 will recommend friends to live! !
