I specifically booked a house with an ancient building. When I entered the room, I felt like I was walking through the door of a large mansion in the past. Many facilities in the house are still preserved from the past. I really like the layout of the house. Upstairs, you can open the window to enjoy the moon and the breeze, and you can also enjoy the scenery in the morning. Every window in the room is a landscape painting. What I like most is that there is a desk by the window, which makes my dream of reading a book and meditating by the window in the ancient town of Jiangnan come true. Hahaha. The service is very good, but the price of a rural homestay is really unbearable, it is already comparable to a five-star hotel. If the price is cheap, I really want to live here for a month. The Bench Bridge at the entrance of the 29th Gate is not inferior to the bridges in other villages. There are few people and the scenery is beautiful. As the sun sets, you can check in as much as you want. Fresh bamboo shoots were drying on the bridge, but the sun rose and it was rainy again the next day. I didn’t know when these bamboo shoots would be dried... There were also bamboo rafts at the entrance of Shangtan Village. We also went to Zhangcun and Moon Bay. It was my first time to experience beautiful cheongsam parent-child photos. The Huangling Scenic Area was crowded during the holiday so I stayed in Yunshui Yao for a long time. When traveling on May Day, I just want to avoid the crowds and go to a place where I can breathe freely. Shezuizai is such a niche paradise. The hosts are a young couple from Lanzhou, Gansu Province. They are very hospitable and they also make good coffee, grow vegetables, raise geese, take in kittens and puppies, etc. They really know how to do everything, hahaha! GGuest UserThe room is great, clean and sanitary. The children like it very much. It has smart control and is just like home, which makes the children feel close to it. It is very close to the Wunuzhou Scenic Area. After dinner, you can go for a walk in the evening and then go back to rest. The location is in a village and it is very quiet at night, so it is good to rest. The boss and his wife are very welcoming and can pick you up at the station. The service is quite good and they have their own restaurant where you can order food. We slept until we woke up naturally the next day. After breakfast, we took a leisurely walk along the river and drank some tea, which was quite comfortable. After lunch, the boss helped to send us to Huangling. Generally speaking, the food, clothing, housing and transportation were very good. I forgot to mention that there is a Wunu River in front of the B&B, which can be seen from the window.

This room is on the third floor and is a split-level layout, but the bathroom is on the second floor, which is not very friendly to the elderly traveling with us.
Surprisingly, our shower room didn't have a door. When I asked the boss, he said it was broken by the previous guest and it wasn't fixed. He also said he would change rooms the next day, but he didn't. I didn't want to go through all that trouble with my child.
The ordering is not bad, this is recommended.

PPWe arrived in Wuyuan on April 3rd only to find out that the rapeseed flowers had already fallen. At first, we thought our trip had ended before it even started. Fortunately, a young lady at the hotel went out of her way to help us find a solution. Following her advice, instead of going to the popular Huangling village, we chose the northern route, where several villages on the hills, likely due to the cooler climate, still had the flowers in full bloom and the fields were vibrant with bright yellow. Had we not stayed here, we would have returned home disappointed.
Another impressive aspect was the food, which was delicious at every meal. Honestly, the Chinese food at other stops on our trip wasn't to our liking, but here it was exceptional. We didn’t even need to specify the menu items; the hotel simply asked what we could eat, such as chicken, pork, beef, etc., and then prepared various dishes accordingly. This approach is quite convenient, allowing us to enjoy great meals without any hassle.

LLiuhaifeiWhen we arrived in Huangling we called the hotel and within minutes the owner arrived (husband) to show us to the hotel (follow him if you are driving) which is just a 1 min drive away from the B cable car (use this cable car to go to the top - the A cablecar only goes to halfway up). He also took our luggage up to the 4th floor.
The room was a good size, very clean and in excellent condition and had the usual amenities. Here are my ratings for the usual important provisions :
Cleanliness (bed, sheets, room, bathroom) : ‘A’ everything was very clean and new
Hot Water : ‘A’ (as much as you want, very clean and hot)
Breakfast : Bento style. It was OK though for Chinese tastes rather than Westerners.
Friendliness : ‘A++’ the husband and wife owners were so lovely and kind. They were very helpful and friendly and very generous, even providing us with a small food gift when checking out.
Location : ‘A’ it is just a 1 mins drive, or 5 mins walk, from the B cable car (the best one) !
Services : ‘A’ when we wanted to visit different places in the area / or get picked up to return to the hotel, the husband was just a call away - even when his car had a flat tyre he found another means of transport to collect us !
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and I have no hesitation in recommending it. We will stay there again when we next visit Huangling !

Hhappy little travellerfirstly about the owner, he’s helpful and knowledgeable and can solve all your problems. he picked me up around 10-11pm in his tricycle decked out in a raincoat and headlight in the rain and even cooked a warm bowl of noodles for me late at night because i was feeling hungry. he also helped me order a ride share to my next stop because it would be cheaper than booking a didi. the owner doesn’t speak english but i think he will gladly accept any foreigners. next is about my room, right outside my window is a little water stream where you can hear water rushing (very soothing if you’re not in the middle of a thunderstorm or flood), the windows are soundproof if you don’t like hearing the rushing water. since it is the countryside, there are a couple of bugs so beware and don’t leave the window open, bring mosquito repellent just in case. the bathroom is a squat toilet so not very suitable for foreigners. the location of the home stay is close to the ticket entrance but you do have to climb quite a few flight of stairs.

The hotel is located on the other side from the main Huangling entrance. When our taxi arrived the hotel owner came to pick us up and take us to the hotel (I recommend adding the owner on Wechat first by his phone number, then he will help contact you and pick you up).
The hotel itself feels very nice and new, it’s just hidden back in between alleys. Our room was lovely, with a Western toilet, great shower, very comfortable bed, and great Wifi. We stayed for 2 nights and ate dinner in the hotel both nights which was delicious. They have a menu with a lot of variety to order from.
When we went to Huangling Village, the owner walked with us to the visitor center to help make sure we knew where to go. The next morning we had a flight back to Jingdezhen, and the owner helped drive us back to the Huangling Village entrance to get a Didi.
Overall, really enjoyed our stay and the owner was very accommodating and helpful!

YYuenWe came for a biking holiday. We stayed 4 nights. We left every morning on a different biking route. Lots of roads and villages.
We each had a guest room. I was disappointed that I had the smallest room but they thought I wanted to be on the same floor as my friends. They moved me to the 2nd floor and now I had the same HUGE place as my friends. In the sitting room, is an L-shaped couch. It pulls out as a bed. So I guess this room could fit up to 4 people. The shower is huge. There is plenty of space to wash our bikes. The sauna/hot air thing was great for drying our clothes too!
Had we been more people, we probably would have rented one of the bigger places and shared instead of getting our own guest rooms.
It's fairly quiet. Breakfast was served in a separate traditional building. Normal Chinese breakfast, but asked for the noodles with the fried eggs! The kitchen staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could have breakfast at 7 am. Also, we asked for a late check-out because we wanted to shower after our ride. They let each of us have our rooms till 4pm at no charge. It would be great if the stone tiles could be power washed as it was quite slippery when it rained.
I didn't have my driver's license but I needed to go pick up my friend and his broken bike. So I went back to ask the manager if he could drive our car 35 km to pick up my friend. He was happy to drive me!
The sign to the guest house was not installed but if you look for the castle-like building, you'll find it. It was tricky getting to the hotel because we arrived late and it was absolutely chucking down with rain.
This is a great, gorgeous place if you want peace and quiet. My room had a river view. Great for relaxation. Highly recommend this place.

GGuest UserIt’s my first time to stay in your hotel. First of all, I was attracted by the lobby of the hotel. It is antique, with carved beams and painted buildings, and has the flavor of ancient Huizhou. Secondly, the room is also very new, very clean, and the air conditioning is sufficient. The hotel’s breakfast is also good, with a dedicated The lady who cooked wontons; finally, the service of the lady at the front desk was great. She was wearing a cheongsam and looked very gentle like a Jiangnan woman. The whole service with a smile made me feel the warmth of home. I will stay here again next time I come to Wuyuan for a business trip. Home hotel!

GGuest UserDisappointing stay here. We had no choice but to extend our stay because it was Chinese new year and very difficult to find another place to stay and also my husband was sick so we had to change our plans and stay an extra night so he could rest.
The place smelled like smoke everywhere. We have a baby with us and wanted a smoke free place. Despite the signs in the lobby saying No Smoking, people were smoking there and the front desk people didn’t care. The towels in our room had ashes on them and smelled like smoke. They were also ripped and badly needed to be replaced. (We got a smoke free room and learned on our trip that all they do for smoke free rooms is open the windows to air it out before you arrive. 🤦🏻♀️)
There was insufficient toilet paper when we arrived and although they did provide more when we asked it was just inconvenient. The toilet paper holder was broken so we had to find somewhere else to put the roll of toilet paper. The sink leaked and it was supposed to be a dry washroom which is one of the reasons why I booked the place but turned out to be a wet washroom. Incredibly inconvenient with a baby.
The shower drainage was missing a cover and it didn’t feel safe for my child when showering because her little feet could get stuck inside it.
One of the days we needed to rest a little longer and the housekeeper asked us when we were leaving so she could clean our room. We said we needed 2 more hours (around 2pm) she kept trying to peer inside our room and said she wanted to get off work early. I found that incredibly rude. I understand it’s CNY and you want to go home early but that’s not something you should say to a guest who paid to stay at the hotel. Front desk people also did not seem friendly. Never saw any of them smile. We obviously don’t speak Chinese fluently and they laughed at us when they couldn’t understand us and wasn’t helpful in any way.
Overall, not a very pleasant stay. Would not stay here again.

The resort grows on you. I say resort as it's not a conventional hotel as such. Its designed and styled as a mosaic of accommodation types spread out amongst the large grounds, or Scenic Area, as its markted. This was confusing and after a long journey to reach the 'hotel', we had to first check in at a enormous building which is also the public entrance for day visitors to the resorts attractions. Our taxi from the station (which declined to use the meter, ¥20, dropped us on the main road and not at the entrance. Not great with our excessive luggage.
We were then transported on extended golf buggy style vehicles to what was the opposite end of the resort.
The accommodation was very comfortable and well designed. The only fault is the long walks to the facilities such as breakfast (in another hotels restaurant). That said, you can call for a buggy pick up.
On check in we were informed the large water park was not open until later in the season. Too cold apparently, despite being in the high 20c's.
A lit of the resort appears to be in state of construction with empty shells of buildings scattered about.
By the end of the 4 nights, we warmed up, literally, to the style of resort, the colourful scenery and facilities, those which were open.
It's a bit far put of the centre of Wuyuan, though there is nothing too exciting to see in the city centre.
