Discovery Parks - Townsville

I had a very poor nights sleep because of all the road noise outside. There was no way to get any natural airflow into the room and it smelt musty and damp. The room was very old but it was at least clean to a degree.

Amazing place to stay. Tranquil and relaxing. Will definitely not be my last visit!

Great place for a holiday or a short stay for hospital reasons. Great staff, very clean amenities and rooms. Highly recommended

The property wss close to our destination and shopping. The staff were helpful regarding after hours check-in.

Not impressed at all. Paid $199 for one night for the motel style room [room 6] and even tho the room was clean and tidy we weren't happy with the view right out of our door been laundry crates / trolleys full of dirty laundry. Down pipe was broken so when we got a shower of rain the water hit the coppers log in the garden and bounced back up onto the walkway out the front of our room. The walkway was in an undercover area. There was no door mat to wipe our feet so walking into the unit with wet dirty feet. The door retractor on the back of the door sprung a leak and dripping oil onto the floor in the doorway. The office was closed so i rang the after hours number and his attitude was not what i was expecting. Told me to report it to the office in the morning. That might have been ok for him but it was me having to clean it up a number of times over the next 3 hours until it ran out of oil, not wanting to slip over in it. I did ask him for a rag or something as i had nothing to wipe it up with and was told to use one of their towels, which i didn't i used toilet paper. BUT it was something that i shouldn't have had to do, he should have come to help or at least come to see what it was doing. The single bed was not made up properly. It just had a fitted sheet on it and the top sheet and blanket were just folded up and sat on the bed. For the price we paid we shouldn't have had to be making a bed, cleaning up oil for hours and looking at dirty laundry crates out our door or dodging rain water puddles on the walkway because a downpipe wasn't working. Yes i paid for the room when i rang and booked it and i wasn't happy with the price but it was convient for the hospital and never expected what we got for our money.

The cottage we were in had cockoaches. Told reception about tham. Was told they would ring and didn't get a call. Had to go and get some spray.
