Holiday Inn Resort Lumina on Wrightsville Beach

One of the pleasures of staying in a hotel is having a clean room and at least getting a daily room cleaning (if not twice daily). At the beach you can't help but track in a lot of sand even if you use the water sprayers outside the pool. In addition, two tiny trash receptacles are in the rooms which start to overflow quickly. The hotel owners are cheap and don't want to spend the money to hire enough maids. They wouldn't have a problem hiring staff if they paid them adequately. ICE and immigration status is also an excuse since lack of housekeeping staff has been an issue since the new owners acquired the hotel in 2020. At that time, they pretended it was a COVID issue and instituted a text system. A maid will knock on your door (not consistently) and offer towels. But if you want a full clean you must contact the front desk. And then you wait an entire day until late in the afternoon for someone to come in and clean. The hotel's on site staff is uniformly friendly, polite and try to be helpful. It's not their fault that they are working for cheap owners. The "resort fee" is also ridiculous since basic services like room cleaning are not provided.

Beautiful from start to finish all staff were absolutely fantastic we had the warmest welcome and were treat outstanding the whole time we were here the crowd are lovely and the area is absolutely beautiful we will most definitely be coming back

This is not what you would expect from a Holiday Inn The hotel is beautiful. The service is great. I recommend getting the breakfast package for every morning because it is a delicious buffet and the waitresses are so friendly. The view looks over The ocean. You are right on the beach with a big huge pool. They have a beautiful bar and restaurant and the drinks are delicious but pricey. The rooms are decorated so cute and if you stay in a room with the balcony, you get a nice view we stayed in 613 and had a view of the bay and the ocean. We will definitely be staying here again Oh, and by the way, they have a transportation bus that will take you anywhere within 4 miles of the resort And pick you up!

Lovely one night stay. Dinner at night in restaurant just OK. Breakfast was great with a wonderful staff. Had a nice walk on the beach as well.
