Hotel Schimmel

The restaurant and reception look good, but the rooms are very outdated. I understand why there are no photos of the rooms on the website. What is immediately noticeable is the entrance to the rooms via a steep staircase that had not been vacuumed for some time. We had reserved a so-called comfort room. This had 2 single beds that were otherwise clean and good. The bathroom was very outdated with broken tiles and the remains of a removed radiator covered with paper. The water was nice and warm and it was also clean. The room had air conditioning that also provided heat. Even at 30 degrees the room could not be heated. The light switches at the entrance to the room did not work, so the 8 ceiling spotlights did not work either. The only lighting consisted of 2 lamps next to the bed and a desk lamp. The sockets on one side next to the bed did not work. In addition to a desk and 2 chairs, there was a kind of kitchen counter with a refrigerator and a cupboard with clothes hangers and extra pillows. The sliding doors give access to a terrace. In the evening, a spotlight from the parking lot shines almost straight into the room. Fortunately, the curtains are light-tight. The breakfast was sufficient.
