We booked for one night on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. We were lucky it was a sunny day as the view over Plymouth Sound from our balcony was astounding. On arrival we were greeted by Sundip the manager of the hotel what a lovely young man. Our room was warm and cosy, lots of tea, coffee and biscuits plus soft fluffy towels. Sure the room is a bit dated but I've seen worse. The two course dinner was great and cooked really well by their excellent chef. Preorder your breakfast the night before and select your time slot to eat, the breakfast was good and a few choices on the menu. Wouldn't hesitate to revisit. Thank you Sundip and chef.

We went to the moorland hotel for a birthday meal for my twin son’s birthday yesterday. What a lovely time we had. Sandep and his team are amazing. The food was gorgeous. A big Thankyou to them all for making our visit very special. Can recommend this place.

A budget hotel, with a really friendly welcome. We enjoyed the food, our dogs were very welcome too and our room was warm. Nothing was too much to ask and they worked hard to make us happy. Amazing views to enjoy, good walks near by and good car parking at the hotel.

We loved the Art Deco furnishings ( some people say it's dated but they obviously don't appreciate it They have amusing art work on the walls some are available to buy. It's really intersting to see the history and changes to the hotel over the years It's Clean and comfy .Just a little old. Helpful friendly staff that can't do enough for you .The food is amazing, top marks for the fresh , hot in temperature and good selection of food and perfectly cooked. It's not a 5 star but if you want that you go pay for it. This was a very reasonably priced budget hotel. The scenery is beautiful situated in the very heart of Dartmoor.

Very welcoming excellent staff. Amazing views over the sea in the distance (it felt more like a very posh hotel overlooking the med!), and you are right inside Dartmoor National Park. Excellent food, and all our needs catered for. In particular, the staff were so supportive and put up with our at times naughty puppy, made it a very enjoyable stay for all of us. We will be back.

As previously mentioned the exterior is dated but having read the good reviews this didn’t matter I checked in and was given room 5 wow lovely view from the window That’s where the positivity ends The toilet had faeces still on the side the shower area was riddled with black mould. The walls had damp and wallpaper peeling off There was no way I was staying there When I went to complain and say I would t stay there they didn’t even ask me what was wrong with the room. I was given the key to room 13 On first glance wasn’t bad Went and had food which was lovely Came back to room then started to notice more mould and peeling wallpaper sockets didn’t work etc The noises of people in the other rooms/corridor left me feeling unsafe and I resorted to wedging a chair under my door handle that night. There were a lot of workmen staying there but you can’t get breakfast until 730 This was no good to me or them as we had to leave for work before When I asked for the coat of breakfast to be refunded basically got told no !! I can honestly say this is by far the worst hotel I have ever experienced and would urge everyone not to stay here ever
