A lovely little pub and accommodation. The rooms were recently updated and the 4 cottages by the side were 2 storey with bedroom downstairs and bathroom upstairs. This room was delightful and roomy and the ensuite was brilliant. The whole room was clean and well provided. Evening meal was a speciality pizza night and was excellent. Breakfast also scrummy. All in all fab stay.

A beautiful and welcoming hotel. The main building with all its historic charm retained and the bedrooms main and well equipped . There was a wide choice of ales and our dinner was delicious. Breakfast featured local ingredients and was very tasty. We were very pleased with our choice of stay and will return when we can

We stayed for 2 nights while walking the Ridgeway Trail. The hosts were friendly & professional. The room was comfortable with good quality tea, coffee, etc provisions. The breakfasts were excellent; high quality ingredients cooked well and a good choice/flexibility; just the thing to set us up for a day on the trail. The evening meals were very good too; well above traditional notions of 'pub grub'. Being a pub there was a good choice of beers/wines/spirits, including a good range of Arkells Ales on tap. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Walked in completely blanked by bar staff. No hello, no be with you in a minute, just went about their business. Headed straight back out again - wouldn't waste a penny of my cash here. Plenty of other places to go in the area. Interestingly, I see this has happened to others. Clearly the pub management are ok with the policy of treating potential customers as unwelcome guests. If you like to spend a pleasant afternoon somewhere - don't go here !

We booked a table for 12pm for our family for Mothers Day. We were told that another booking was booked for our table at 2pm. We ordered our food shortly after arriving and noticed other tables that had arrived after us were getting their food. Ours didn’t arrive until after 1pm. We then ordered our desserts just after 1.30pm and were told we would have to eat them in the garden so they could get the table ready. We said that was t really acceptable and they wouldn’t budge. We cancelled our desserts and asked for the bill - which didn’t come, considering they wanted us out and our table! They were rude and inconsiderate to us as a nice family having a lovely Mothers Day with 3 generations of Mums. Even people on surrounding tables spoke to us and said how awful they were being. We won’t be going there again, which is a shame as the food was good and we were having a nice time until then.

We arrived Friday afternoon to find the Inn closed and we thought what have we done??? BUT they left us a key to our room and everything got better and better. The real star Richard chef, been there years and years .. and cooked the best breakfast !!! And al the staff were friendly amd Welcoming... Thank you and we so enjoyed the area and our visit to Nicky Henderson's !!!

Stayed here whilst visiting the area, Lovely pub and accommodation staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well presented, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom and shower. Breakfast was lovely and we both enjoyed it . Would highly recommend and will be staying here again definitely.

We decided to try somewhere new to eat and we chose the White Horse at Woolstone. It's less than 20 minutes drive for us so , we were looking at it potentially becoming a new local eatery for us. We had a 6.30 table booked for our anniversary. Was very busy when we walked in and had to wait just to let someone know that we had a table booked. After getting our drinks we looked at the menu and the specials board. A nice choice of food was available and when it eventually arrived it was very nice. The downside was that it arrived just before 8pm and a wait of an hour for food is not acceptable to us. I could see that the two staff members were rushed off their feet and that they didn't have enough staff. I don't know if this was a one off, but I'm not sure if we will return again.
