On the River Inn

My family and I have been coming to 506 a couple of times a year for the last four years and have always loved it. Well, this July 4th weekend was our last time. After the new corporate owners took over, it seems the hotel couldn't care less about guest safety or basic comforts and amenities despite still charging the same "resort fees." From smore kits no longer being put out, to fruit salad dissapearing from the brekfast options, to the games gazebo on the lawn being gone - these are just few of the many things that might be a bit annoying, but tolerable. What is not tolerable is the upper half of my 11 year old daughter's bed buckling at 5am, and rather than offering us a free night or other discount off our stay, the manager had the gall to tell us that the bed was not broken and we simply should have called the night maintenence to fix it. This manager must think it's normal for a bed to collapse, as long as it can be fixed quickly??? What planet does this management team live on? My daughter already has a back injury and 506 better hope this experience did not aggrevate it. Nevermind the hotel management also not offering any concessions for my brother in law's showers backing up with sewage and feces smells, which the maintenence man indicated may be due to persistent sump pump issues. It's really too bad because 506 just lost a repeat family of 16. Good job, I'm sure with this approach to customer service we will not be the last

On the River Inn sits on a beautiful river setting with a large backyard going down to the river. The rooms are ok but could use a little furniture facelift for the price paid. The towel drying rack was pulled out of the wall and didn't work. Also, if you wait to book, you may get a better price. I booked too early and it went down $25. but wasn't offered the difference when I notified them. The restaurant is amazing. We had dinner and the complementary breakfast. Both were excellent. The pool and spa looked nice but we didn't use them. The pool table is an antique but fun to play even if some of the balls fall out the pockets. A little on the pricey side for the rooms but very quiet and comfortable.

The plane had potential, but... Check in was sub par as front desk clerk was on the phone handling personal matters as I was trying to check in, and he was rather curt and rude. Room wasn't thoroughly clean on arrival. Purified water machine was broken and inoperable on 2nd floor and the one on the ground floor had a large puddle of water below it. Wifi wasn't working initially and though I notified the front desk of both issues, he didn't seem particularly interested in resolving either one. 24/7 service phone continued to ring work no answer. Great location though.

Stayed in the farmhouse house separate from the main hotel, which was nice However, the bathrooms were extremely small and hard to maneuver in. I’m sure the main hotel and rooms are much nicer.

Perfect Weekend Escape We had a wonderful weekend away here! The Inn is beautiful, charming/well decorated, has fabulous amenities (hot tub, pool, sauna, game room with arcades, lovely library, outdoor firepit, etc.) stunning views of the river, comfortable rooms and includes an incredible complementary breakfast. Hands down one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had. Staff was friendly and went out of our way to make sure we had everything we needed. It's only a quick 3 minute drive to town center, and 506 On The River is a perfect escape in itself, a hidden gem. From complementary smores by the fire at night to the relaxing sauna or a drink at the bar, this is the perfect spot for families or couples. We will definitely be back!

The hotel and property were very nice. All the staff, except one lovely woman who worked the breakfast, was unfriendly and uncooperative. The gentleman at the front desk to check us in and we had the misfortune to speak another time, barely made eye contact. I travel a lot, and I have never been to a place with such unfriendly staff. Not a hello or good morning from any of them. It was uncomfortable. While the property was nice, I probably would not stay there again.
