It was located in a very quiet area in the midst of the forest. Fresh air and surrounded by greenery. Good for morning walk. Cozy room and friendly staff.

The hotel is beautiful, but the hygiene should be improved. There is a lot of dust and hair on the carpet. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is delicious. The garden is large and it is suitable for children.

We booked afternoon tea for a group who are living with dementia and their partners. The young lady who served us was very accommodating to all our needs especially moving us all about because of wheelchairs and lack of mobility. Nothing was too much trouble. My order was really good value. £8.50 for two huge fresh scones, loads of clotted cream and jam. And I had many coffees. The room is nicely decorated. Thank you so much for giving us a lovely visit. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the young ladies name.

Very accommodating staff but the hotel is in need of a spruce up. Very dated interior and the gardens and outbuildings need tidying as well. Excellent location for the hotel.

One night stay over before a cruise found the hotel quite easy and walking in it all looked beautiful We were given a key to room 19 Bedroom it self was very small had a couple of lovely bruises caused by catching myself on the wooden rail but was comfortable enough even though we were what looked like the lean to on the side of the house Then I went in the bathroom it was awful sink cracked mould all over shower screen should of been cleaned or changed a long time ago bits of wood nailed on very slap dash very disappointing We had travelled 8 hours to get there and just wanted a nice shower but couldn’t get in and out quick enough Was hoping this could be our go to place when we go on a cruise but I guess not

The Woodlands Lodge Hotel has an incredible warm and welcoming feel about the place. Having stayed there a number times over the last nine months it just improves every time; the rooms are fantastic with character, the bar is great with superb cocktails, the food is delicious and the garden is beautiful being a stones throw from the New Forest.

My husband and I stayed for one night at this fabulous hotel to celebrate my birthday. A lovely surprise to enter our room and find balloons hanging from the lights and towels made into swans with rose petals. Our room was so spacious and had a lovely view over the garden which was lit up after dark. At dinner I was provided with a second dessert with a candle in a chocolate brownie with Happy Birthday beautifully presented. The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. So lovely to be able to walk out of the hotel after breakfast into the forest and see the ponies. Thank you for making my birthday so special.

We booked bed and breakfast but didn’t realise we were breakfast due to bed having hundreds of bugs in it. Me and my wife woke up itching and on closer inspection found bed bugs crawling in the bed. On reporting this the reception guy said never had it before and would look into it and offer a 30 pound discount on a 130 room.

Three night stay for my sister's wedding in May this year. Room 11 was really very small (although supposed to be a deluxe room), although nice and clean, bed was very comfortable, nice hot shower. My sister was staying in the bridal suite which is the room next door, that was understandably a much larger room, with a balcony. Looked far for comfortable than our room. The rooms are also stiflingly hot! We were provided with one small table top fan, which simply wasn't enough, especially at night. Breakfast was okay, tasted nice but the portions are painfully small for the price, same with the dinner menu. Lovely location, friendly staff and great all round hotel, although could do with an update. I think it's under new management and about to undergo a refurbishment? If that's true, we would be interested to visit again, and see what improvements are made.
