The hotel is beautiful, but the hygiene should be improved. There is a lot of dust and hair on the carpet. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is delicious. The garden is large and it is suitable for children.

We have stayed at Woodlands 4 or 5 times in recent years and really appreciate how dog friendly you are. A couple of little issues this visit - the shower head would not stay upright and the sliding door was not secured at the bottom. The large radiator in the conservatory did not come on which made it impossible to sit in for any length of time The little garden could be tidied up a little more and a bag of cuttings not left out. The rest of your grounds are so lovely. I did make comments on the Cattlegrid feedback stating that my roast chicken special on the Sunday night was not up to standard. Special praise should be given to the young lady who was on duty all by herself on the Sunday evening and Monday breakfast who did a wonderful job .

The food was excellent; chef very good with fish cookery. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Interesting old building with nice garden and direct access to the new forest No lifts to the upper rooms, could be made clear on website.

So homely and comfortable in all areas of the hotel. A real treasure which we intend to return to. All the staff were cheerful and helpful and the room was spacious. Hidden in the middle of the New Forest the immediate area was tranquil and offered an escape from everyday life.

We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The food and the staff were excellent, however the hotel is rather tired, and is ripe for Alex Pollizzi as the hotel inspector to sort out the decor, particularly in the dining room and conservatory!! It could be so much better. As it is in the middle of the forest, surrounded by trees, watch out for bugs and animals visiting, which are only to be expected in the New Forest.

This was our fourth visit to Woodlands Lodge Hotel and we simply love the hotel. Yes, it’s a little tired in places but it doesn’t detract from the wonderful setting and exceptional service given by every member of a great team. We will return again.

We stopped overnight at the Lodge and found it quiet and very comfortable. Its Forest setting is lovely and we appreciated the woodland views in the morning. Checking in and out was very easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Easily accessible free parking is another positive feature. Very convenient for Ashurst and the New Forest.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at Woodlands Lodge and we really like it. The location is great, the staff are wonderful and friendly, and the breakfasts are fab! We stay in a deluxe double because we like the generous space - the beds are comfy and there is always a plentiful supply of tea and coffee.

We have stayed at this hotel quite a few times now. The rooms are spacious and clean and have coffee /tea trays and the bathrooms have complimentary toiletries which are lovely. We were a bit disappointed that our room this time overlooked the car park and the ducks next door were very noisy at times. I would recommend a garden view room as it's quieter. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed being able to walk into the forest from the hotel.
