Fairfield Inn & Suites Potomac Mills Woodbridge

Initially, I booked this property because it was a quick in and out of Washington DC. One can be in town in 30 minutes but overnight rates are lower and the city's traffic congestion can be avoided. What I experienced last night by booking a room on the first floor of this property was: - an incredibly kind and helpful staff - a spotless room and public area - new carpeting on the first floor - a room much larger than I anticipated it would be - excellent linens and a generous supply of thick towels - immediate hot water in a lovely bathroom with great bath products - a wide variety of television channels - a breakfast buffet that offered a wide variety of items - from scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and hot waffles to oatmeal and granola with more topping options than I've ever seen offered to bagels and cold cereal - flavored creamers (what?!?) and fruit juices in the buffet area - nearby restaurants to satisfy any craving or appetite Did I see workers (who were also paying overnight guests) in the parking lot after dark? Yes, and they saw me. We nodded at one another. Could the parking lot use a repaving? Perhaps... but I wouldn't consider the property sketchy because it could be repaved, or because a construction team chose to stay here. They appeared to be at work when I arrived for breakfast at 7:45 AM. This is a fine property with incredibly hard working staff and it offers a number of (complementary) items that you won't find in hotels whose rates are double the price of this Fairfield.

Mortified and disgusted I always like to start the review with a positive. I didn’t make it the first day and called. The staff was accommodating and checked me in. Thank you. Now let me start with the main issue I had. I left early because I was so disgusted with my room. To begin, the room had a leak that look like it has been there for weeks, black mold was apparent (see the picture) I brought it to front desk attention right away, but it was 11pm and I was so tired from driving all day and attending a graduation. The next morning I noticed the horrific conditions of the room. I stayed in room 107 a handicap room. The windows were so dirty there is a white cloudy film, the toilet seat was damaged and peeling, there was stains on the white comforter, and a nasty brown stain on the bed skirt! The last straw for me was I saw something on the floor behind the chair, I went to get it because it looked like a scarf, I thought my daughter maybe dropped it putting her bag on the chair when I pulled it up it was a pair of dirty underwear!!!! Yuck! I checked out that night! Mortified and disgusted cannot even describe my feelings!!!!
