Filthy, damp, building works, nosy staff Room was damp paint peeling, mould on the walls and ceilings, no mention of the refurbishment works going off on the website, food shockingly poor value, not allowed to run a tab so getting up and down paying for drinks as we go, using this normal practice for restaurants??? Guy on reception gives you the full interrogation before handing you your keys. All in all a poor experience.

Extremely tasty food for dinner and breakfast. Kind staff and great service. Really nice staff member called Katy. She was extremely cheerful and chatty. Also a really good access point for the amazing Peak District! I would recommend coming here for the Peak District and for an amazing sleeping experience.

Staff at this Premier inn really friendly and helpful and it does make a difference to your stay. The only thing that let's the Premier inn down is it's Wi-fi. The restaurant looks fresh and clean 7 not tired and worn out like some of the others in chain.

Totally terrible stay, I need to get a phone number to speak to a manager and get a refund. Arrived around 4pm, room was dirty. Toilet had not been cleaned properly, the TV remote was visibly disgusting, dust sat on the dresser. Bathroom mirror not cleaned. I had to go to a supermarket to get cleaning wipes as it was awful. Woke up to chambermaids screeching about a top sheet? More chitchat at far too loud to be respectful to guests. As the hotel was having building work done in another building, they had turned the water off. I waited overanhour until after 11:30 before ipackeduo to leave and complain to a manager. I couldn't flush the toilet, shower, wash, fill the kettle to make a coffee, nor go about my business having brushed my teeth! I went to reception and was informed the water had been turned offf for the building work, yet I hadn't checked out and had no water!! I was told couldn't speak to a manager, but to contact guest services. I went away with the card I was handed for contacting this team to handle my complaint, to find it was a card asking me to review the hotel on TripAdvisor (??!) with no contact details as I was told. That is a terrible way to handle a complaint, total avoidance??! Shocking as I've never had such a bad experience, nor felt so aggrieved with how to direct my complaint.

Dreadful, arrived, Hotel under refurbishment and no restaurant. Entrance had bare plaster board where they were refurbishing, restaurant was shut and there was noise coming through from the renovations, the reception area floor was filthy with builders mess although the builders had hoovered up after themselves. The staff at reception were extremely helpful but I had taken one look and decided I was not stopping. The reception staff were very good and got me booked into another Hotel. I was told that there was a free complimentary continental breakfast which was collect and go, however, the side board area this was served on was thick in building dust. The last thing I want when I have had a long day travelling is to get to a Hotel where there is no restaurant or eating facilities, I didn't want a £1.50 packet of crisps from a vending machine! Premier Inn quality has gone down over the last few years and this is probably the last time I will stay in one as there is plenty of choice at better rates.

Love staying at Premier inn. Very convenient and cost efficient. Doesn’t matter where in the country you are staying if you're staying with premier inn you know exactly what you are getting and what to expect. Never had a bad experience yet with premier inn and if weve ever had any kind of issues they’ve been sorted out immediately so not affected the stay. I have another 3 stays booked for this year. Premier inn is always my first point of call when looking for a basic few nights away and don’t need anything fancy or special.

This is the second year we have stayed at this premier inn and we we're really pleased to see that Katy was still working here in the restaurant. We love her sense of humour and friendly banter with the customers. She does a fantastic job looking after everyone and making them feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and Katy is a real asset to the company. We look forward to seeing her next year.

On arrival we were informed the restaurant would be open at 6pm after a refurbishment and it’s gorgeous, brewers fare has gone and premier inn have taken over with a gorgeous makeover…menu is great and Katy who has been in situ for 16yrs is a breath of fresh air, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable , nothing is to much trouble, Katy is an asset to the team.
