The location of old swan is excellent, you can hear the birds chirping in the room in the early morning. Open the window and you can see the ancient streets and thatched houses.
Strolling along the small streets, you will feel the taste of the British countryside.
The atmosphere is also very good when you arrive in the evening, and you can have a drink if you have time.
The stairs have a special sense of age, and the walls on the second floor are a bit crooked, which also gives a sense of place.

Had an absolutely amazing stay at The Old Swan Inn. Peaceful and quiet, most of the time we felt like we were the only ones there. The nearby ruins and rampant wildlife were an added bonus. The garden patio and wisteria outside our window were absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend

Really nice hotel, room and bathroom lovely and very clean, beautiful location (have a walk down to the church and the Ruins), staff welcoming, food great, lovely garden to sit and have a drink in (even better when the sun is out !)

Noisy kitchen fan heard from the room. Dirty bed throw. Cold plates served in restaurant. Breakfast poor. Served two fruits instead of the four in the salad and was told they were being delicious at the weekend! Not a cheap breakfast either! Would not recommend the Old Swan

Sunday roast at the Old Swan followed by an afternoon watching village cricket, what could be better? The Old Swan offered inside or outside dining with a good selection of food. Service was excellent and the chef paid a visit to each table to make sure everyone was happy with their meal. Lots of tasty gravy on the roast and hot runny custard with the pear crumble. Graham Kew

Beautiful village and ancient pub with rooms. The food offering very much in keeping with the average pub menu though breakfast could be improved ...the menu didn't appear to offer UK cereals and marmalade was scarce. The room was full of character which of course meant some compromise on quality.

This hotel would be perfect for a romantic getaway or just to relax. Everything you need is at your fingertips. There is a comfortable lounge with a fireplace, restaurant and bar, and there’s a play area in the garden. My stay was just an overnight on my journey but I chose Old Swan for the aesthetic of the historic building and the setting. The room, staff, and delicious breakfast did not disappoint.

We stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding in the locality. We had a ground floor room that opened up on to the courtyard which was rather lovely. Can relate to other reviews re the damp smell as entering the building but the room itself was fine. It was comfortable and equipped with everything would you need - iron, ironing board, tea, coffee, water, hairdryer etc. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom needed updating - we did have a problem with the flush on the toilet, but we cannot fault the response from the hotel. They were very proactive and turned a possible negative outcome to a positive one. We did have lunch at the pub and can recommend the sharing ploughman's. The hotel is a listed building and parts of it orginated from the 17th Century, so is full of old beams and wonky floors. It is however in a lovely location. We had breakfast across the road at the Minster Mill.
