The reception staff were very helpful as my friend has mobility issues and couldn’t manage the two floors to our rooms. This was our fault as we had misread the details, however, they immediately found other rooms (one being a ground floor disabled room with a patio for my friend) My room was bright with exceptionally clean bathroom, towels and bedding. There was a layer of dust on the pictures and lamp but all things considered this was insignificant. The meals in the restaurant were good and plentiful but I do find butter on every vegetable unnecessary. We had a fabulous waitress called Amy who couldn’t have been more considerate if she tried. She was courteous, pleasant and always had a warm smile… a credit to Warners. I had 2 treatments in the Leisure Suite, my Drift away with Belle and my Mediterranean facial with Ali and both didn’t disappoint . I felt refreshed, relaxed and happy. Thank you Warner for a wonderful weekend and will be revisiting again….. even though the drinks and snacks are overpriced lol.

The visit didn't start well. We knew that we couldn't check in till 3.00pm. Room would not unlock when we got to it until just after 3.00pm. We went into the room MH 11 in the main house. Oh dear! The room was dirty and small and right over the kitchens, but the bathroom was the complete disaster. The bath was covered in black mould, the bath panel was hanging off. Complained at reception and was told the hotel was full. Spoke to the reception manager who said we were lucky as they had a cancellation and we could change rooms which we did. Much nicer room weren't we lucky!! It's not all bad: Pro's: Entertainment team were very good. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Food was adequate but nothing special. Con's Jacuzzi broken Hotel needs some TLC. wallpaper coming off in the corridors, all doors need painting following the changes to door locks. Very regimented on times, as with the checkin we were told very rudely at 7.55am that we were not allowed into breakfast until 8.00am. Not allowed in the Cheshire barn until after our booked table time although the table was ready for us. Bar prices are not cheap, and the impression is one of penny pinching. Lots of things incur an extra cost.

Visited in October and Christmas last year, what a change the housekeeping standards have dropped due to pressure of time allowed per room, reduction of hours etc, did love the card in the room, housekeeping will not be cleaning your room the following morning to allow you to settle in, we wonder what bright spark at Head office thought that one up. We have been visiting Warner's for a number of years now like so many visitors, several times throughout the year. The staff work extremely hard to provide us with an experience to savior, we appreciate that the economic climate is hard, don't destroy the love and goodwill your loyal visitors have for Warner's.

I have been to MANY Warners hotels over the years. I'm currently here with my dad, who's a PLATINUM member. On arrival, we found a card in the room saying the room will not be cleaned on the first day of your stay. Having paid over £700 for 3 nights, I find this TOTALLY unacceptable. I do understand that costs are going up, but this is one corner that should not be cut. Warners, please reconsider this.... I have read other reviews and can see this is not going down well...... We then thought about doing some activities.... then found out you now charge for them!! £8.50 I think from memory for shooting or archery! We've NEVER had to pay extra for activities! We may as well stay at a Premier Inn if all we get is the room.... Then there was the waiter in the restaurant..... Brian the snail from the Magic Roundabout would have been a better employee.... from sitting down to getting our desert took 1 hr 30 mins, and even then only because I kept waving at them to get attention. I bought a drink.... got a dirty glass...I mean REALLY dirty....I took it back and got another, but I shouldn't have to do that.. Would I come back to this hotel? Not a chance...I've got another Warners booked elsewhere, but if all their hotels have changed like this, I'll spend my money elsewhere...

The entertainment team are the best of all of the warner hotels I have stayed in. It is a lovely place with helpful and friendly staff. The only sore point was management decision not to service rooms the day after arrival. It is expensive to buy drinks

Unfortunately the staff and entertainment are let down by the poor condition of the hotel. It is obvious that little attention is paid to cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel. The staff are friendly and, for the most part, are committed to their job but upkeep/maintenance is very poor. Communal areas are scruffy. Chairs in the fountain bar are so worn that the wooden frame is visible through the cloth coverings. The chair in our room was badly stained. The housekeeping staff report they are allowed 8 minutes to clean a room. To achieve this, they do not make the beds nor vacuum the carpets. Penny pinching is rife - one tea bag between 2 at breakfast ! However, the entertainment was very good although we have done the Sunday afternoon quiz more than once! Maybe time for a new set of questions!!

It was a great stay as always. Alvaston is one of our favourites, not just for the fabulous hotel and what it has to offer, but for the amazing surrounding areas as well. The entertainment is always very professionally presented with first class acts. The food drink and customer service throughout the hotel is always first class. The staff there are always eager to help and make sure your stay is memorable and you go away thinking yes I will be going back there.

An excellent weekend stay in very pleasant surroundings, an hours drive from home. After the initial walk from the car park to reception, and the hotels ability to accommodate a change of our booking. My wife and I enjoyed every second of our stay.

Not visited this particular hotel before but was very pleasantly surprised on arrival. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate, lovely balcony with chairs and table which overlooked pond and greens at front of building; regular visits from a tiny robin redbreast. Allocated great table at front in dining facility, but wished someone had advised how their dining system worked - had asked how you got to sit in venue if eating in alternative restaurant but no response. So, for information, pick your table in Market Kitchen, then just dine in Cheshire Barn for a more personal service, before returning to your reserved table. All staff in these areas were polite and friendly. Food tasty as normal, and same choices as all other hotels visited. Drinks did seem a lot dearer here compared to other places (1 only few weeks previous). Entertainment was good, staff shows brilliant. Activity staff were very friendly and demonstrated well to all participants. Shame axe throwing wasn’t available due to wet ground. Certainly lot of activities going on inside, including usual quizzes in various areas. Grounds were beautiful, with everything just coming to life. A great place to visit but a bit too far for us, coming from down south, to do on a regular basis.
