River Road Motel

I had stayed there before because of the location, also knowing that it isn't a "high end" place But when the sheets that were on the bed were visibly soiled, with no top sheet or blanket. No one answered the front door at the managers off, I called and spoke to someone on the phone who said they would "let Sue know" , and the sheets would be replaced while we were out for the evening when we returned, no sheets, no one answering the door to the manager. We did not stay the night. I have left messages since with no response hoping to get my money back.

To make a long story short the receptionist called us while we were 100 miles away on a tour in Harmony, MN. She told us that the motel was overbooked. I called her back but she never answered or returned my call. When I got there another girl was coming out of the office and was very upset because she was turned away since the motel was overbooked. After ringing a buzzer for service at the office, a woman came out and said “we are overbooked and I had to turn away 5 people!” That was her greeting to us in a nutshell. It went downhill from there. She basically told us that we had to find another room somewhere else and she would give us a refund. It seemed as if a robot was speaking to us with an automatic reply. Anyway, my husband and I couldn’t find another hotel in town that was affordable so we drove another 60 miles to Madison WI. We stayed at the AmerInn Wyndham which was a very nice and relaxing property. My husband asked the receptionist at the River Road Motel for the owner’s e-mail but the receptionist gave him a bogus e-mail to a contracting company that she works for. After we were looking for other hotels to book in Wisconsin Dells we saw that the River Road Motel was still accepting bookings even though they were oversold for that night! I wouldn’t stay at this property because they are very unprofessional and shady!

We left five mins after checking in, this place was dirty, the front desk office was locked the whole time, I rang the bell that said "ring for service" nobody came, I then called the phone number listed on their website to get help and check in. we didn't get a room key, we got a small piece of paper with a code written on it, wonder if that actually has ever changed or stays the same, for the short three minutes we were in the room some tried to enter our room twice. There were stains on the bottom matters, there was dirt/debris on the floor and visually hair on the table. Also the door to the room isn't completely sealed you can see outside while it's closed through the crack near the bottom. The best way I can describe the motel is crack house. The staff also for that description
