We are no strangers to the Chewuch Inn and have loved staying there for a couples' getaway in the past over the course of several years. However, we hadn't been back since the Frank Hotels group bought it. We won't be returning after our last visit. My husband and I visited the first weekend of March and it's obvious this locale has declined. We drove for 2.5 hours to find that the hot tub, a huge draw for us, wasn't working in our cabin. It was also full of debris. Husband texted the number listed for any concerns--no response. I visited the office the next day and the front desk gal was apologetic and said something like, "These hot tubs are more trouble than they're worth. We get a lot of complaints." (Wouldn't you think that if you received a lot of complaints, you'd be hyper-vigilant about ensuring they worked?) She told me she'd sent out a maintenance person to look at it, and that she was sure we could get at least 15% of our money back. Not idea, but okay. Well, the hot tub never ended up working, and no manager was ever on site to discuss a refund. A week and a half later, we have received no response to any phone calls, texts, or emails. The non-functional hot tub, ants inside the cabin, and lackluster customer service were pretty unimpressive. Read the other reviews that mention breakfast amenities running out, dysfunctional hot tubs, and lack of cleanliness--you'll get an accurate picture. It seems like the Frank Hotels group completely ignores any feedback. For over $700 for the weekend, I had higher expectations.
