Zephyr Mountain Lodge

After having not skied in over 30 years I decided to join my sister's family on their annual ski trip. Their destination was Winter Park. I decided to drag my daughter along who had only skied a few times. We took some lessons before we went and the skiing was great...but this isn't about the skiing. When we decided to go to Winter Park we started to look for places to stay. As were ski trip newbies we really didn't want to try and figure out the transportation so wanted to stay close. When we arrived, even though I had watched bunch of videos, I could not believe how convenient this was. The "room" was great. A one bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room and then a bathroom between the two spaces. A nice kitchen with everything you needed to make a meal. We had purchased some food on the way in so we could make our breakfast each morning before heading out as well as have snacks when we returned at the end of the day. We thought we'd take a break each day and return for lunch but we did that just the first day, realizing time on the mountain was too precious to miss so the last two days we grabbed some snacks on the mountain (and also consumed the Uncrustables we brought along). I know there are "nicer" places at other resorts but for the money I'm not sure this can be beat. You can tell the place isn't "new" but it was still in great shape. The staff was friendly and it was so great to be able to walk over to the ski rental place (where they allow you to keep your rental skis overnight) each morning and grab your skis and head to the lifts. I definitely didn't get my daily steps in because everything was so close. We are now planning annual ski trips and I know the bar set by the Zephyr in terms of convenience and quality of stay will be incredibly hard to beat. I'm guessing we will return again very soon.

Condo was awesome text communication was great. They were able to give us early check in that was much appreciated.

It was incredible staying at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge; from the hot tub to being able to walk one minute to the gondola to hit the slopes; I will definitely stay here again!

Could not be better Not sure it could have been better. Staff was incredibly helpful. Access to the mountain was outstanding. Parking beneath was easy and quick. If we ever ski at Winter Park again not sure I'd look anywhere else.

What a really great mountain! This lodge is conveniently located at the base of the village steps from the gondola. The condo we stayed in was really nice compared to other resorts, we rented thru icon at the last minute and were happy with everything. Parking is not included, you’ll pay about $25 extra per day plus resort fees and taxes, so don’t be shocked. We found several places to eat, all were very good. We are already booking another ski trip, we will likely explore more places to stay, just to compare pricing.

You can't beat the location, with the gondola just steps away from the lockers. The building is a bit older but the rooms were very nice and comfy. Also loved the hot tub after a day of freezing on the slopes.
