They didn't honor my paid reservation saying that ******* had cancelled all reservations (and not told those of us holding said reservations, which means that the motel itself should have let us know ahead of time, as they apparently knew already) for that night (which was the night before the annular eclipse) and made me pay $106 to have a room that night, which is reprehensible in the extreme. Sure, the lady at the front desk (Sherry) was otherwise nice and attentive to guests' needs, but I don't believe her story. No proof offered. However, if I want a room that night in town, her offer is likely the best offer, so I have to take it, not question it and not get upset with her. It's too bad, I have stayed there before and like the location. But taking undue advantage of guests who have already paid is disingenuous and Travelocity should consider NOT having this place on their website as a result. Yes, I did have another problem, which they took care of enough to my satisfaction, so it wasn't all bad. And they gave me a newly renovated room (good job there) which they hadn't planned on filling that night apparently, but it stings to have had to pay again for a room for which I had already prepaid months before. And while Sherry offered the next customer a miliary discount, she had not even discussed any possible discounts (military, AAA, AARP, etc.) with me and just took my extra money. I feel had and it helped to ruin a once in a lifetime experience. Let the buyer beware.
