Location: The hotel is well-positioned for exploring Windhoek, offering a peaceful and secluded setting away from the city center. Guests appreciate the safety and quietness, although some find it slightly isolated for walking into town.

We were booked into this hotel by Wilderness, a luxury safari company for our last night before leaving Namibia. We were led in our room (room no 2). We were just ready to “jump” in our plunge pool when it knocked at our door. A really unfriendly staff member explained to us that we have to redress, pack our luggage and change to another room (room no 6), not as nice as room no 2, because she was mixing up names. We felt like second class people, no apologies, just the explanation that they made a mistake.

We started and finished our travels at Olive Exclusive Suites, on our driving tour around Namibia. Very friendly welcome , the staff work hard to assist any orders. Beds are comfortable with lovely linen. This hotel is in need of TLC, there has been clearly been an effort 'Shabby Sheik decor with with an endearing African feel style, leaning towards the shabby end of the scales!. The online pictures have clearly been taken quite some years ago, as most areas are tired; a little effort would be a game changer, and become a GEM. Now for some negatives I'm afraid ! In the lounge/deck & bar area the furniture needs repairing or updating, our room had an AC each end of the suite, only one worked. There are 2 sets of steep steps that lead to the bedrooms, one staircase has minimal lights that work, the ones that do work shine directly up into your eyes! The other staircase none work. Breakfast was very nicely cooked, lunch very minimal menu, dinner food was fine. The menu itself has pictures of the food , which doesn't make for appealing tempting orders. On our final night we opted to go out for dinner, the hotel booked our taxi to and from the restaurant, returning at 9pm, which we did as we were told the hotel bar remained open till 10pm,, on our return, the hotel was completely locked up, no light, no staff available ! The gate security had to help access us to our room ! I've tried to be fair, but wasn't a great ending.

We had two nights here, one at each end of our trip and whilst I’m sure it is perhaps luxury by Windhoek standards, it’s not compared to the camps we stayed at in between. All very pleasant and the room was nice, but the food was so-so and it’s a little way out, and I wouldn’t have felt safe walking into the centre from there - that is no doubt because I’m not used to places where every property seems to be gated and have barbed wire around it, which is obviously not the hotel’s fault, but I just think it would have been better being more central.

I forgot to write review because i'm still waiting for them to reply to me to my email i sent one year ago... On the positive side Rooms are nice Dining room is nice Food was correct On the negative side The swimming pool are in such a bad shape and really are not welcoming. We didn’t even tried to get in the water The exteriors are not well maintained at all The worst thing is the stress they caused us. We took a huge time to warn them regarding the fact that we needed to check out very early in the morning in order to take our international plane… this was actually the only reason we decided to sleep in this hotel. We asked them to help us with the luggages because there were so many stairs and they told us that there won’t be any problem and that we can trust them.. At the time we needed to leave no one was there. No one. I climbed the stairs in order to reach some help. No one. I knocked on the doors even shouted desperately, no one. The driver wasn’t even able to enter because your security was sleeping and no one opened the gates for him. I had to climb all the stairs with my luggages, and I could have injured myself. I had to shout and knock at every doors in order to wake up the security… the guys that are supposed to do the security are sleeping, no one is helping and we were stressed to miss our plane. An old person never would have been able to climb the steep and long stairs with their luggage’s and would have miss their plane… They never even dare to apologize and to answer to my email

Excellent high end hotel suite with 7 rooms in the heart of Windroek. The staff at the restaurant was especially kind and accommodating!

We stayed a couple of times at this property and enjoyed it a lot. The design is beautiful, with great art pieces throughout the common areas and the guest rooms. The food is excellent (so you don’t have to leave the place), and the staff friendly. The only issue we had is the first night with room number 4 as it is located at the edge of the property, whose neighbor has a noisy dog barking at night. Ask for another room! The second time we were upgraded to one of the rooms that has a private plunge pool and this was totally worth it. We would definitely stay again at the Olive

Excellent boutique hotel! Beautifully appointed rooms, stayed in suite 3. Jane has been very friendly and helpful in the restaurant and reception. Will definitely return. A great start to our Namibia road trip. We arrived at Windhoek airport and checked into Olive Exclusive, we loved the touch of Africa, and the smiles on the staff’s faces as they welcomed us. Do yourself a favour and eat in, the menu is excellent as well as the wine selection. Nothing was too much trouble.

An unbeatable way to start your Namibian vacation. The Olive Exclusive has all the quality of a big-brand hotel chain. At the same time, it’s small and personal; so it feels like you’re staying at home with friends. And certainly the management and staff make it feel like home. Gavin, Melissa, Daphne and Antoinette were happy to go the extra mile and more. A small example: we wanted to wander over to Independence Avenue and see the Christuskiche. Though it’s a pretty safe city, Gavin said it gets a little too quiet on a weekend (this was a Saturday). So he drove us there and then picked us up after we’d had a bit of a wander. The food at the hotel is great and the suites are tastefully done. We didn’t use the plunge pool but it looked nice, though a little small. Our guidebook says that Namibia makes for a soft landing into Africa. Well, in the same way, The Olive Exclusive makes for a soft landing into Namibia! Strongly recommended. It’s a small property with only 7 suites, so plan well and book in advance.
