The breakfast with a stunning view and friendly staff stood out. Spacious, well-appointed rooms, ample car parking, and charming facilities like The Seasons Cookery School and the Wellhouse Restaurant were appreciated.

A fantastic weekend in a stunning country hotel. I knew it was going to be great from the moment we walked in. A friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Incredible food from masterchef Tom, and brilliant service. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and clean.

Lovely countryside hotel with beautiful grounds and wonderful food. The bar had an excellent choice of food and is a stunning room. The Avenue restaurant has excellent service and wonderful food to match it. I will definitely be returning in future!

This was an overnight trip with dinner in The Avenue and breakfast in the morning. Beautiful accommodation and location. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Recommended for a quiet and relaxing break, just wished we could have stayed longer.

Basically an expensive overrated gastro pub. I called in and asked which restaurant to books for my father’s 80th. I was assured it was an amazing restaurant and hotel. Imagine our disappointment when we were put in a smokey (they had to open a window to get rid of the kitchen smell - (they seemed excited to put hot charcoal on a peice of butter - which quite frankly was dreadful) where we were massively over dressed. The food was completely average (but priced as al la carte). We went home to clear our lungs and warm up. I’d avoid it tbh.

Starting off coming up the drive, looking at the house, just sets you back in time. Pulling up to the front of the hotel and being greeted by the friendly reception team, handing the car off to the experienced valet, and beinbeing at g shown straight to the bar. It's like being at a second home, especially with the cosy feel of the property. The experince the bar team really shined when no cocktail was too much. The food on offer was unlike any bar i've been to with options of braised beef, veison stew and their 'market fish', I'm not sure which one stole the show more. The drinks kept on coming and even with a bit of history of the house as well. From the ceder tree that lines the walls of the house to the celebrity line-up of previous residents. I can't wait to go back with my friends to see what The Avenue and The Wellhouse have instore...

We had the 8-course tasting menu in The Avenue and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each of the dishes had interesting and unusual flavour combinations, my particular favourite was the turbot with grapefruit, prawns and harissa. The front of house team had great knowledge of each of the dishes and were able to answer any questions we had about unfamiliar ingredients. A stand out dish was the venison, which had the perfect cuisson and was served with a glossy and unctuous sauce- absolute perfection! The best meal I have had in a long time.

We booked afternoon tea here in October. The ambiance was lovely, as too was the service - staff offered us extra sandwiches and scones. We thought the actual flavours/takes on the sweet treats was a little too fruity, but that was just our personal taste. It would have been good if there was some literature about the history of the house for guests to read.
