Lovely stay in a idillic spot opposite the Cathedral, the room was perfect.
The staff were really friendly and food we had for dinner was spot on, as was breakfast.

This was the first port of call on our annual two week travel around the UK and I'm so glad I picked it. It's a great location, just opposite the Cathedral and plenty of places to eat and drink close by. A brilliant atmosphere in the pub and restaurant area. Dealt with superbly by the team we had contact with. I did have some concern about the parking, the hotel had already sent the information through but as with any new city if you don't know your way around it's a bit tricky. I shouldn't have been concerned though as it was easier than I thought. The room was great - just what we wanted and well worth the price. A massive congratulations to the team who, after I managed to damage the toilet (accidentally I hasten to add), simply moved us into another room. Hence why the photo's show two different rooms. Breakfast on both mornings was superb - one of the best I've had in a place like this. I'd definitely stay there again.

Warm welcome from Bradley who had us organised into a room and a garage in double-quick time. All the rooms are named for interior design companies, ours was Zimmer & Rohde, a mixture of classic pieces and modernity (eg, the bathroom). Creaky, sloping floors throughout the building - only to be expected - and bar noise floating up at night explained the earplugs in the bathroom. We had a dinner in the restaurant, very nice, and returned there for a great cooked breakfast the next morning. There is so much to see and do in Winchester, but the Old Vine really can't be bettered as a base - right next to the Cathedral.

All one could ask for in an Inn. Really friendly staff, great location looking into the cathedral grounds, nice pint in the pub under your feet….
Parking a bit tricky but doable.

Really great experience. Ideal location minutes from the cathedral and the shops. Friendly staff and brilliant food. Nothing was too much for the staff, really helpful. The icing on the cake was the stunning Osbourne and Little Room we stayed in. Beautiful design and decoration. Only negative was that this is a popular pub and was quite noisy on the Friday night but the music stopped at 11pm so caused no real problem. Also handy ear plugs supplied ! On the whole we really enjoyed our experience at this hotel and would go back.

Tradition and quality merge in the Old Vine. Perfectly positioned in the centre of the cathedral area and walkable to all the sites. Great breakfast and lovely helpful staff.
Wholly recommend it; we had the top floor suite, great views and spacious.
