Courtyard Philadelphia Willow Grove

A short night stay. Fair room and hygiene. But at a relatively high price at this quality.

I never have a good experience in Philly Marriott hotels. I don’t get it but I found myself here again for an event. Tried to check in at 3:00 which is an hour before official check in. I’m a Bonvoy member so checking in early (I requested 3:00 via the app so not a huge ask) is never an issue. The woman working the front desk was really snotty when I asked if early check in was a possibility but she said 4:00. Ok. No problem. Anyway, at about 3:15 there were about 20 other customers waiting to check in and every single one was being told it was a 4:00 check in. I stay at Marriotts 160 days per year and I’ve never heard of a policy where every single guest checks in at 4:00 simultaneously. And why would the management want to do this to themselves? Maybe all 20 rooms weren’t ready? Maybe they were short-staffed? In any event, completely unacceptable. At exactly 4:01 they began the check in process. I then heard the same snotty front desk woman being obnoxious to the guests in the front of the line. At one point she yelled out to all of us “get your licenses and credit cards out” which, after waiting for rooms you would think she would be understanding and realize that THIS wasn’t the problem. But no. Same crappy attitude. I was about 8th in line so after about 25 minutes I got my key. Finally walked to my room in a hallway of wet towels and garbage outside of rooms. My room seemed sort of clean but the whole thing was tired, dated and far from what I expect from a Marriott. There’s almost never anyone available to man the bistro and honestly, based on the condition of the rooms, I wasn’t about to eat breakfast here. Went to my event and checked out a day early and drove the 3 hours home instead. This is a glorified motel. Do better, Marriott.

Stay was amazing definitely will be returning!

The staff was attentive and helpful. We were disappointed because the hot tub was out of order but overall a very good stay.
