The Landing at Seven Coves

It's time for upgrading the rooms and decor. This aside the resort is still a nice place to vacation.

We are currently staying at the Landing right now. We have had ZERO water in the condo for going on 2 days now due to a water main break on the property. Paid $1300 to stay here for a week and we have NO WATER. Toilets aren't working and we can't take any showers. I asked management to be compensated and was told a flat "NO". I told the staff that I was going to leave a bad review and that we would not stay here again and they responded, "we understand". Things happen and I understand that, but to not be compensated for this big inconvenience is out of line. This place has significant memories for me because I came here every year with my family when I was growing up. No more. There are much better, and newer, places to stay on Lake Conroe.

Nice people; however, the condo left a lot to be desired. There were many repairs needed to the condo. Had we reported them all, we would have gotten nothing else done.

The furnishings and kitchen appliances seemed left over from the 1970s. Texas heat in June is unbearable during the middle of the day and their AC unit could not handle it even though they put Freon in the outside unit. The coolest the room got during the day was 72 degrees and we had the thermostat set to 60 degrees. Luckily, we brought a fan with us from home but I still had to go to Costco to buy a fan for the living area. The maintenance man said the blinds could not be closed because they were broken and needed to be replaced. Finally, housekeeping came in while I was dressing without announcing themselves or knocking. They did not apologize. Instead, they said I should have already checked out but someone had messed up our reservation. So, I had to pack up 4 people's personal effects and get out in just 30 minutes or be charged $211 for another day!

I booked my reservation through RCI for a two bedroom. Arrived at the resort. No two bedroom available. We got put into one bedroom and could not sleep until midnight or 1 a.m. for three nights because we were at the lower floor and could hear people walking from the second floor. Called the front desk nothing changed. We were able to get the two bedroom on the 4th - 7th nights. Those nights were good. But the resort manager avoided refunding for the 3 nights that we were in the one bedroom. I called 4-5 times. Every time was told the manager wasn't available but would call me back but never did.

I reserved a two-bedroom apartment for a week. Upon arrival, no two-bedroom was available. We got put in a one-bedroom apartment. So we had to use the pull-out bed which was not very comfortable. We could not sleep either as the room we were in was on the first floor. We could hear people staying on the 2nd floor walking and stumbling. We called the front desk and we still heard the noise. We could not sleep until midnight or 1 a.m. for the first three nights. The resort moved us to the 2-bedroom on the fourth night. The room was better in term of space but it was not as clean as the first one. We found pet hair and the pillow cases were smell. We also found a big cockroach. The best thing for this place is the view as it is right on the edge of the lake. I still have not received the response from the manager about the issue I have since last week. Will keep on trying. I reserved this resort through RCI and I asked RCI and they don't seem to help its customer.
