The staff here was amazing! I had a massage with Yuly at the Resort Spa. I recommend her! Typhaney, Charles, Rohan, Selena, Devin, Theodore, Mr. Leon, Captain Handsome, all restaurants and grounds staff, absolutely wonderful! The food was terrific, we tried every restaurant, participated in the daily activities, the pools, cabanas, and grounds are so well maintained! Schedule an excursion with Marvin on the beach, we did a tour of the island and Odane shared the rich history of the many villages. We also highly recommend a tour of the garden and farm with Charles. The polish green views throughout the resort are due to his green thumb and ideas. Thank you for a great Vacation!

We stayed at the Verandah 9/25/2025 to 9/30/2025. I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a resort as I do for this one. To say that we were so disappointed in this trip is an under statement! I would not recommend this resort to anyone because of the issues that we experienced while there. 1. Very short staffed-only 1 bartender at each bar 2. No wait staff walking around pool area to offer drinks but they would walk around periodically to pick up empty glasses 3. Only VERY few employees were friendly/kind-I have never felt so discriminated against. We were ignored and when spoken to, it was a very short/rude tone for an answer 4. Pool towels were not available in the designated towel areas until 9:30 am some days; they do not replenish them throughout the day and I literally saw a man ask for a towel and the employee manning the music gave him a hand towel to use 5. We waited an hour for pizza to be made at the Pizza Cafe-we watched the guy working there talk to the waitress, going very slow and only putting one at a time in an oven that could accommodate more than that at once. NOTE: We were the only 2 that were there waiting and no others had placed their order prior to us 6. The safe in the room is VERY outdated with a key that you had to keep with you at all times 7. No soft drinks or canned beer in fridge in room (only bottle water is given) 8. The door to your room only had a latch; the dead bolt just twirled around 9. The AC unit in our room was broken-I had to wedge a washcloth in the vent so that they air could circulate properly in our room 10. Breakfast buffet is limited and varied little day to day. I asked for a Bloody Mary and was told that "those drinks cannot be served until 11am" 11. There are ZERO umbrellas near the pool area. There are only areas that are covered by awnings but again very limited for guests 12. There is no entertainment except for music and a few games 13. Rooms are only cleaned every other day 14. Only one restaurant was open on Monday 15. When checking out, they gave us our bill and never once asked "how was your stay?" "did you enjoy your vacation? The front desk girl working again was VERY rude! 16. I called to the front desk on day of checkout and asked instead of checking out at 11am, could we checkout 1 hr later (12pm) so that we were not waiting in the heat for 2 hours. She checked to see if our room would still be available and it was and then said it would be a $75 charge--it was only 1 hr later and the resort was no where near being at capacity 17. The liquor availability varied by bar 18. When we asked for a lime with our drink, we were told "we do not have those right now, no one has cut them up yet" 19. No swim up bar by any pool 20. There was 1/4 inch gap in the door to our room; I can only imagine the potential bug entry that could occur After feeling so mistreated by the staff, I did begin to write down the names of the employees that were kind to us. This was our 3rd visit to Antigua but our 1st time at the Verandah hotel. It did not disappoint. The grounds are superb and very well kept, a delight to walk through. The staff were all very polite and friendly. The room was very large and clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We dined at all of the restaurant and as we were in low season and the hotel was only at 30% capacity, booking tables was not a problem. Sail & tails was very good and being outdoors it gave the true Caribbean vibe. The food was very good as was the service. The Italian was less good, perhaps we hit it on a bad night but we had a very long wait between courses, we only went there once. The pizzas for lunch were very good indeed, as indeed were all of the lunchtime restaurants. Breakfast at Seabreeze was plentiful and the evening buffet was good too, usually themed. I think that were perhaps disappointed that there were no whole fish on offer as we have usually had in other hotels in the Caribbean such as grouper, mahi mahi. The beach BBQ however was fabulous and great fun. There is some walking involved at the resort but nowhere near as much as we expected and there are always the golf carts to give you a lift if you are tired. The beaches were a disappointment to us hence the 4 star. Lovers beach and Rasta beach are both bays which means that the ground underfoot is algae a bit slimy. it's not pleasant to swim in. Long bay on the other hand is superb. It is along the road near Pineapple beach resort and only a few minutes walk away. We went there to swim and snorkel most days. It did rain on a couple of days but we expected that as it is the rainy season but there is plenty to do. Games at the pool bar, the coffee shop for a snack etc... There is the mini golf course (you need to use deet even in daytime!) table tennis, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard and much more. The pools are lovely, we had the waterfall pool opposite our room and being low season we quite often had it to ourselves. The towel situation is an interesting one. Towels are available from 'cupboards' at the beach and pools but the tendency is to take more than you need and by mid afternoon there are none, even in low season! We would certainly visit again as Antigua is our favourite Caribbean island!

My wife and I had such a an amazing time at the Verandah. Beautiful beach and amazing views. It's absolutely worth spending a little extra for the Superior waterfront room. This place has an amazing crew. Genuinely kind hard working people who do their best to make you feel at home. They grow all of the produce that you will be eating and the food options were good. I only wish the buffett area was open for lunch. Really my only critique. If your contemplating booking don't hesitate. We will definitely be back and miss it already.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, all staff were welcoming and very nice people. The restaurants and food was delicious I ate mainly at the Seabreeze restaurant, once at Sails and Tails, had a mocha most days from the cafe 1761 and enjoyed all meals. My room was clean and extremely spacious, beds were comfortable and the view from our balcony was superb. I would like to shout out staff members who made our trip even more special… Theodore, Vinette at reception, Egbert who greeted each day at Seabreeze restaurant, Chef Khari, (Sail and Tails) Renaldo, Chemar, who drove us around the grounds to and from our rooms in the buggy’s, Lorenzo who is the maintenance person, Keisha (egg station at Seabreeze restaurant), and Super Mario down at the lovers beach I would definitely recommend this hotel stay and will be back. One critic would be to stop using ‘Complete seasoning’ on the fish in all restaurants, as it gives the fish a distinctive perfumed taste which is not nice. Everything else was great.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at this wonderful resort. Our room was very spacious in a little twin bungalow close to the main pool. We had a lovely balcony with a sea view. It was cleaned every other day to a good standard. Our main impression of the hotel is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and most speak to you, even when passing. The duty managers are always visible and make a huge effort to find out how you are. Special mention goes to Patricia who always had a welcoming smile. The main pool is lovely and clean with plenty of shade. It was low season so there were days when we pretty much had it to ourselves. Leslieann and 'Devan from Heaven' made sure that activities ran on time. They were not at all pushy and you weren't nagged to participate. The bars were great and we had lovely cocktails each day. Leon and Andre were particularly attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic. We really loved the wide choice of food at breakfast. For lunch, we liked to eat at Sauls and Tales and were lucky enough to spot a hummingbird. The serving staff were outstanding. The grounds are vast and so beautifully maintained. You can visit the Pineapple resort with a day pass. We did this once but it wasn't to our liking and we didn't return as we preferred the peacefulness of the Verandah and felt that the pool was cleaner. The beaches are stunning with lots of shade and towels were plentiful. This was a fabulous holiday. We don't tend to go back to resorts but we would definitely recommend this one.

I was so excited for my upcoming stay ay the Verandah the week of 5/31 - 6/7/2025. On arrival I was offered a fruit punch, resort map and a green bag, No other information was provided, I have to say after 2 nights there I was confused on the high reviews people wrote. I decided to read the reviews the property was recently given, and I must say I. Highly agree with ,,, Dakota C., Chris L., and Kim B. My room , grounds, main pool was lovely. Food was basically the same everyday at the buffet. Drinks at bars were off brands and low quality. Guest services staff was not there twice I went by for information, I called from my cell phone several times and no answer. ADIO the entertainer was fabulous, as well as a few handful of staff Nicole restaurant and the hotel resort fees are NOT part of your all inclusive stay..

Recently returned from The Verandah Resort and had a very enjoyable stay. The resort was kept spotlessly clean, staff all helpful and friendly and there was always a good choice of food. plenty of pool/beach towels contrary to previous reports, except when some guest took 3 each. It is a shame the Americans attending pickleball break and ignored the smart casual dress in evening and turned up in sweaty sports gear and baseball caps. Is too hard to shower and change. Any bad reviews are not a true reflection of the resort, a lovely relaxing resort.

We had the most beautiful week at Verandah Resort! After reading some negative reviews, I didn’t know what to expect, but everything was perfect for us and beyond our expectations. Clean spacious rooms, spotless and well kept resort, all facilities in the resort were amazing, from the pool, gym, restaurants etc. The food in the restaurants was delicious with lots of choice, each night was a different theme. The beach party on the Friday evening was so special and the highlight of our holiday! The beaches in the resort are gorgeous and so many sun loungers were available. We used the water sports from lovers beach everyday, such a nice addition! The staff were friendly and everyone we saw said hello. Overall we had a gorgeous time and it’s a holiday we will remember for a very long time - highly recommend!
