Lots to do at the resort and nearby that was free or low cost. We were lucky with great weather every day.

The accommodations at the Colonies were excellent, however, when it comes to the time share experience it has been a nightmare. Last year we were promised to be put into the RCI points versus weeks program after buying another property at the Patriot (already had properties at the Colonies). When attending our owners meeting and asking about why they would not process the paperwork that RCI needed to put us into the points program we were told that we would need to buy more...what a scam!

Outdated, you can feel the springs of the bed mattress popping through, smells, no house keeping, no charging ports in the rooms (we all know how important this is traveling with little ones and their devices), activities crew does nothing fun at the pool - they just walk laps around and that’s only if you see one. Most times, none were present. Mold on the shower curtain, pool towels are as thin as rags and shed, kid inappropriate music being played at the pool. This resort does not deserve an RCI Gold Crown status!

Lovely quiet well-kept grounds, caring staff, huge units with washer/dryer & full kitchen & patio & king bed,split bathroom with 2nd sink & cabinets, fun activities, nice pools & gym & game room. Very clean & cared for.

Room was gross. Literal puke chunks still in vacuum in room. Black mold in bathroom. Service desk couldn’t be bothered to help when I called about broken TV. Had to find maintenance myself. Shout out to Roby who was a bright light in an otherwise mediocre experience. Kids loved the pool.

This property is a favorite with my kids. The outdoor/indoor pools are excellent. The full kitchen does help for the week long stays. Pillows could be better and they should probably change the dishwashers as they have an option for a delayed start which it does not indicate if it’s on a delay or not and can cause some confusion. (If you hit a button after starting the wash you can cause it to reset and it stops the wash cycle after a minute or two) A minor inconvenience compared to the other great qualities at this property.

Dump, this was worse then a motel 6 Dirty, furniture worn like it came from goodwill store. Dirty, vents were filthy. Drsins didn't work in sinks/tub. Big black bug in bathroom Dishwasher was noisy as was washer/dryer. Towels they provide at the pool are a joke, worn and small.

Great trip; easy drive to Yorktown, Jamestown, & Colonial Williamsburg; outlets nearby; pool area was like a mini water park; the apartment was spacious and felt very homey

Overall the facility is good and staff is helpful. However, there was smell in the room, that needs to be fixed by better cleaning and perhaps installing air purifier.
