Club Wyndham Kingsgate

If you’re visiting the Williamsburg area and there are children in your party, I don’t know how you could find a place better than Club Wyndham Kingsgate. Our Labor Day weekend trip was perfect. The resort offers a large outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and adult pool. The activity center has lots of video games, all on free play, as well as a pool table, air hockey, and many more games. The food at the poolside cafe was also very good. The location is great. It’s within two miles of Colonial Williamsburg, and just fifteen minutes to Busch Gardens, and about the same to Jamestown. The resort also has very visible, 24-hour security. The rooms we stayed in were on the second floor of building two. We were able to have adjoining rooms. Beds were comfortable, the atmosphere was quiet, and everything was very clean. No complaints from our crew.

We used Wyndham Rewards points to book a 1 BR condo. It was a good use of points. Our unit was clean. Everything was in working order, if a bit dated. The Wi-Fi and temperature controls worked well. The coffeemaker was a Cuisinart 12-cup. They provided two packets of laundry detergent for the washer/dryer. The bathroom is a bit small and could use a couple more towel racks. Ten minutes from Colonial Williamsburg/Merchants Square. The miniature golf is 18 holes and well maintained. The pools are nice, but lack lifeguards (and could use more lighting in the evening). The hot tub was great during the day, overcrowded in the evening. The food at the poolside bar/restaurant, Sly Clyde’s, was generally good. We were offered 30,000 Wyndham points to attend the sales presentation. We declined and heard nothing further during our stay. We stayed for a long weekend. If we were at this property longer, some issues might have been more grating. There’s more smoking than we expected, and it seems to be permitted in most outdoor areas. As noted in some other reviews, there’s a higher percentage of problem guests than you’d ordinarily expect — loud music from the balconies, smoking in the pool area (against the rules and stopped by the staff). We were awakened by shouting in another unit at 2 am our last night.

We had an excellent experience. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it had just enough space for our family of four. Resort was walking distance to many shops and attractions . Staff was very friendly. Kids loved the pool and the arcade! We will be back soon!

Would definitely recommend staying here. We stayed in a 1BR that also has a pull out couch. The unit was a tad small for the four of us and the pull out couch was not comfortable, but overall, the resort has alot to offer. The unit was clean and has a mini kitchen which served out needs well. Our crew loved the game room/activities. We took a day trip to Washington, D.C.offered by the resort, which we highly recommend. Unit was clean and since we were on the top floor, we had no noise issues. Others had indicated a problem checking in, but I saw nothing but fast, efficient service both at check in and check out.

We needed an accessible unit. We have had hotel accessible hotel rooms larger that this whole unit. This unit was a one-bedroom unit so small that it was hardly maneuverable in a wheelchair. The space between the wall and bed was just wide enough for a wheelchair making it very difficult to transfer from wheelchair to bed. speaking of the bed. It was a queen size bed with king size bedding which hung on the floor. There was not ding table, unit not large enough for one, Just a bar but not chairs. Luckily, we found a maintenance man that was able to round-up a couple chairs. Check-in was a mixed bag. The front desk person was friendly, efficient and helpful but we had to see the "Concierge" to get a welcome package and room keys. What a pain! Before you received your package and keys you had to endure a not stop pitch to attend a sales presentation. We were not interested but the "Concierge" wouldn't take NO for an answer until we got downright insistent. Not a good first impression.

Stayed in Aug 2025. Very happy with our stay. Price was affordable, yes there is an activity fee, but honestly they have a ton of activities for the family and kids. It kept our teen kids very happy. They will try to sell you on coming to a timeshare meeting, we just skipped it, no big deal. The rooms are a bit dated, furniture looks 1990-2000ish, but it was all well maintained. The room was spacious, and was well maintained. All the staff se interacted with were great. If we were to go back to the area we would look to stay there again
