We spent 3 nights at this charming B&B which is a short walk from the centre of Colonial Williamsburg. The house is attractively furnished in traditional style befitting Williamsburg. Our twin room was a decent size with wash handbasin in the room and compact shower/lavatory separate. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning effective. The lovely owner, Kathryn, prepares excellent cooked breakfasts which varied every day. I consider that this B&B is good value for money and would happily return.

My husband and I loved our three-night stay at The Colonial Capital Bed & Breakfast in June as we attended a formal family wedding at William & Mary Alumni House. The home is beautifully decorated, and the breakfast the innkeeper, Kathryn, cooked each morning was absolutely scrumptious. Our second-floor room had a lovely balcony, which we sat on every day as we enjoyed looking out over the beautifully landscaped property with gorgeous crepe myrtle and magnolia trees. The location was perfect, as we were able to walk to the wedding and also into town to enjoy the great choice of restaurants and the quaint town of Williamsburg. It could not have been better!!

A wonderful bed and breakfast in the heart of it all in Williamsburg. Our host Kathryn made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. The breakfasts were delicious and well thought out. Beautiful interior decor and landscaping. We cannot wait to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Located within walking distance to Williamsburg sites and directly across street from W&M. Honestly, the breakfast was the most amazing part of our stay. Superb dishes every morning. We jumped out of bed each day anticipating the next delicious breakfast. House was comfortable and hostess was magnificent.

We would definitely stay here again. The house is charming, the rooms are lovely, the breakfast is delicious, and the owner is so friendly and welcoming. We are particularly grateful that she was so flexible on our checkout day when our schedule got turned upside down when we ended up needing to take our W&M student to urgent care.

The host was out of town. The college students that live on the property had taken up parking spots that they were not to be using. We had to wait for them to come and move so we could have a spot at 9 pm. There were way too many spider webs in the windows, both inside and out. There were missing light bulbs in our room. The back deck (point of entry) was in poor shape. There were rotten posts etc.

Colonial Capital Bed & Breakfast was the perfect accommodation for visiting Colonial Williamsburg! The home itself is lovely, with many period pieces, and very comfortable. It's a short walk to the historic center and in close proximity to William & Mary College, adding a combination of colonial history and youthful energy to the neighborhood. The owner, Kathryn Tawes, is a warm and gracious hostess, and very responsive to guests' needs. A real bonus are Kathryn's fabulous breakfasts, a delicious way to transition from a cozy night in the B&B to a day of active sightseeing. Highly recommend Colonial Capital!

This is a lovely colonial home, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. I perhaps could deduct a fraction of a point for some minor updates (but I won’t), and anyone who stays in b&bs knows—and appreciates—that they are not a typical “big box” hotel. A high point of our stay was two of the most delicious breakfasts we’ve ever eaten. Belgium waffles were featured one morning, and Eggs Benedict (with wonderful Virginia country ham) the second. Additionally there was fruit, juice, bacon or sausage, and more. (You probably won’t need lunch.) The location is very pleasant, convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and several great restaurants. In addition to being a great cook, Katheryn is a pleasant and gracious host.
