Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Historic Willcox, Arizona.We are conveniently located at Exit 340 of Interstate 10, 80 miles east of Tucson, 75 miles North of Mexico and 40 miles west of New Mexico. We are considered 'high desert' at an elevation of 4,167 ft. We’ve stayed at this Holiday Inn Express often for Apple Annie’s farm visits. My husband, a retired IHG frequent traveler, knows their standards. This stay disappointed; if it were our first, we wouldn’t return. Front desk manager Kathy was rude, huffing when I provided my cards and dismissing floor requests with weak excuses. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome; only exhaustion kept us from leaving. Another front desk staff member kindly gave us an extra blanket for our son, and the breakfast attendant was pleasant. The room was spacious but old, mostly clean, though I wiped residue off the bathroom door. The shower had great pressure, but the bed was awful—sinking, squeaking loudly, disturbing sleep. Breakfast was a highlight with bacon (slightly overdone but welcome). Kathy’s rudeness and the uncomfortable bed overshadowed the positives, falling short of IHG standards. We’ve loved this hotel before, but we’re hesitant to return without better staff courtesy and room upkeep. The location near Apple Annie’s is great, but Kathy’s service needs improvement for a pleasant stay.

The hotel was clean the beds were comfortable. The AC worked well and the free hot breakfast wasn't bad. There was plenty of parking and was convenient access to the freeway and plenty of hot water for showers. Overall we had a great experience for the price and would stay there again.

Location was convenient, but what a dump! Room smelled like cigarettes, pet urine & chemical cleaner. Holes in walls & water damage around the tub. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable, front desk staff were friendly & helpful. Only place for food is the truck stop across the street.

This hotel used to be our go to in Wilcox. It’s horrible now. Chair in room was extremely dirty & stained. The headboard was still greasy from someone’s head leaning on it. Happy I travel with Clorox wipes! The furniture was all chipped. Clock didn’t work. The vents on the A/C - Heater were broken off. The room carpeting smelled like someone threw up on it. The showerhead was for someone 10 feet tall & sprayed all over the bathroom. Carpeting throughout the hotel was frayed & coming up. Definitely not up to Holiday Inn Express standards. More like the Bates Motel! The one & only saving grace was the sheets were clean & the bed comfy.

I guess since I registered through *******, they gave me a room where the shower head was coming out of the wall and didn't spray properly. I'm sure they had better rooms. Breakfast was good.
