Mount William Station

We were 3 families that stayed at Shearer’s quarters from 4th to 8th Jan (all up we were 14 of us). Unfortunately, the accommodation did not meet our expectations at all – the fridge was filthy inside and need a thorough clean before we could even think of putting any of our cooked food in there. There was an open (almost finished) ice cream tub in the freezer that had leaked out; freezer tray was sticky and dirty; there was leftover food and drink items that had been left by the previous occupants and that had not been cleared out before our arrival; coffee mugs in the cabinet that were not clean; inside of the microwave had splatters of something, inside of the kettle was black and needed a good scrub before use. The property is huge and lovely which made us wander off to explore - only to be told that we were limited to where we could walk around to – no signs indicating the start or end of Shearer’s quarters property. The youngsters in our group were told not to play in a particular section as that was not part of Shearer’s quarters which limited them to play only in the “courtyard”. The view from the kitchen window – not much of a view as all we could see was tall overgrown grass. Overall, very disappointed with the cleanliness of the communal place. Rooms were basic but clean

We recently stayed at the beautifully restored Mount William Station as part of a Globetrotting holiday (non-riders included). Where to begin? The accomodation was outstanding, the service impeccable and the food exceptional (thank you Kevin!). Our hosts, Will and Nadia were warm and welcoming as were the hardworking staff. The team were attentive and responsive to our needs and made every effort to ensure we had a wonderful stay. As a non-rider, the Station provided an excellent base to explore the Grampians and do a bit of bird watching. Oh, and my husband loved the horse riding! We highly recommend a stay at Mount William Station.

Our stay at Mount William Station in Willaura was absolutely perfect! It had everything we were looking for—seclusion, luxury, and plenty to do. The tennis courts, six-hole golf course, swimming pool, and sauna kept us entertained and relaxed, while the stunning surroundings made it feel like a true escape. The food and wine were top-notch, and the service was five-star without being stuffy. We were lucky with the weather, but we can totally picture cozying up by the open fireplace in winter. A perfect taste of Australia with all the luxury perks—we’ll definitely be back!

The homestead is a hidden gem at the foothills of the Grampians and boast spectacular views. The accommodation in the Chirnside Suite was great. Dinner and breakfast was prepared by a private chef with fresh locally source produce and Nadia couldn't have been more welcoming. We will definitely return to this quiet country haven.

Elegant, grand and relaxed! A stay at Mt William Station stops the clock and leaves the pressures of the world at the front gate. Rich in history and style. The chef inspired and presented food is amazing as is the scenery. The Station is a place where the grand days of Australia’s pastoral homesteads meets relaxed modern country hospitality. Definitely a must-visit! Our room was elegant and comfortable. Bathroom was clean with good amenities The gardens were well tended and very relaxing The staff went beyond, non intrusive, friendly and we could not fault. The best of the Grampians. We will go back !

My family and I enjoyed an unforgettable 2-night stay at this charming estate, Mt. William, nestled in the heart of the Grampians. From the warm welcome to the exquisite 3-course dinners, every moment was delightful. We loved sharing drinks and stories with fellow guests, adding a friendly, communal vibe. Our mornings were spent walking in the crisp air, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and ancient trees that left us in awe. This serene escape offered the ideal blend of nature, relaxation, and indulgence. My only recommendation would be to stay longer and truly immerse yourself in the experience! Perhaps enjoy the pool, sauna, tennis court, and garden games available at Mt William. Plus, explore the surrounding areas, such as a visit to Dunkeld's Royal Hotel Pub for lunch or dinner, a hike in the Grampians, or an indulgent massage. We left feeling grateful for our time here and eager to return—highly recommende for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in country Victoria!
