I have stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites in different states before but this was the first time that my family and I stayed at this particular location. We had to travel to Northern Kentucky for a commencement ceremony that I was a part of and this hotel was close to the university. Two staff members were at the front desk upon our arrival, both of whom did not appear enthusiastic about our visit. The hotel is dated but the room itself ( 2 queen beds studio suite with sofabed) was spacious. The vending machines were not in operation the entire three days of our stay. The breakfast buffet which was included in the payment was, by far, the worst breakfast that my family and I ever had in all the hotels that we've been to. The omelettes were bland and not freshly cooked, the oatmeal was salty (yes, salty) and the coffee was lukewarm. The coffee comes from a thermal carafe that sits in the hotel lobby. How long the coffee sits there is anybody's guess. The selection of food was small but it really would not have mattered if it tasted good. Having a staff with a warm, friendly demeanor toward their customers would have compensated for the shortcomings of the hotel, but unfortunately, this was not the case at all. It was highly disappointing, so you are better off staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites by the CVG airport. My niece and her husband stayed there and found their experience to be an enjoyable one.
