Excellent service, Yvonne was such a lovely host and getting to feed the horses was a highlight of my stay.

You get a warm welcome and will be offered a cup of tea (or other drink) the moment you step through the door. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast is great. There is lots to explore if you like to hike or go for walks. Don't forget to get treats from the owner to make friends with the ponies and enjoy the lovely little garden park.

My good friend and I stumbled upon Yvonne and Robert’s beautiful B&B haphazardly and it ended up being the most relaxing, lovely, and comforting few nights for us. Yvonne is absolutely lovely - both she and Robert took great care of us, making sure we were comfortable and that we had enough of everything. We felt right at home and very relaxed. We had a delicious breakfast in the morning. All amenities were spotless, and the grounds are so well taken care of. We still can’t believe that view from the garden. It’s breathtaking. A big thank you to Yvonne and Robert for making my friend and my first time in Wicklow unforgettable (I truly mean that). We will 100% be coming back. Thank you Yvonne and Robert. See you soon -Leyna and Fiona

Coolakay House B&B is adorable, clean, cozy, and welcoming, and has everything I needed for my 3 nights after walking the Wicklow Way. Yvonne and Robert are warm and friendly hosts, and the other guests also seemed happy and everyone seemed well looked-after. Breakfast was filling, made to order, and Yvonne’s homemade soda bread was amazing! It’s very quiet and peaceful, with a large beautiful garden to lounge in and watch the sunset, and about a 30-minute walk to Powerscourt Waterfall, which is a local attraction and natural walking area, great for picnics, hiking, or photography. Note that half of the walk to the waterfall is along country roads, so for safety, walk on the right side of the road (facing oncoming traffic) and wear bright colors so you’re visible to drivers. Note that this is a bit outside of town and there is no local bus service on this road, so you will need to arrange taxis to and from the towns, but they are reasonably priced, and the hosts can recommend local drivers, buses, or trains if you need transportation.

Yvonne is a truly wonderful host who couldn’t do enough for myself and my friend on our last night of the Wicklow Way. Lifts to and from the House are available. Accommodation is spotlessly clean and the best porridge ever! Beautifully maintained gardens with plenty of outdoor seating to take in the stunning views. Amazing.

The loveliest bed-and-breakfast I’ve ever visited! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the grounds are gorgeous. I’d have been very happy to spend all day in the garden and visiting with the ponies. The location is so easy to reach from Dublin and it is a very convenient base from which to explore the area. Yvonne was so kind and helpful, and her full Irish breakfast is the best you’ll find anywhere. We can’t wait to return. 10 stars! 🌟
