The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, near the river and seafront. The breakfast is excellent with freshly prepared dishes. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

We were originally allocated room 24. The room was dark and soulless and the window could not be opened. We asked to be moved and were reallocated the room immediately above. Whilst still somewhat soulless was much brighter and had view of river. Unfortunately also view of roof which had rubbish on top. Room was clean. Double bed small. Shower door broken. Plus point was that not on road side so quieter. Pub/restaurant was full of character and lively. Food was good value and restaurant able to cater for gluten-free diet. Lovely view over river. May have been unlucky with our rooms but did enjoy the pub!

The town is wonderful and this just made it better. My first impression were amazing and once I was served by wonderful staff I was even more delighted. The traditional Irish food deliciousness or to put it another way would be scrumptious. The view over looking the bridge (The Bridge) and lake was rather soothing. Also the beverages (non alcoholic) where beautiful and tasty, if you want good tea come here. And finally the furniture to sit on were rather comfortable and really was a delighted up in my day so I was troubled by back pains.

Second time visiting the Bridge Tavern in Wicklow. Our family were visiting Ireland and wanted to meet up with family members so we did an overnight stay and booked dinner for a birthday in the Restaurant overlooking the Vartry River. Once again the stay was great and the staff were so welcoming and attentive. The Grey and White decor of the rooms is so relaxing and the complimentary tea and coffee tray added to the experience. Real Irish Tea too : ) The beds were clean and very comfy so we had a great night sleep. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent and the presentation and service was 10 out of 10. The next morning we chose a full Irish Breakfast which was huge and the food was yummy (all local produce) The Teas and Coffee as well as the juices were free flowing and nothing was too much for the staff. Considering we had a late breakfast the quality of the food was just as good as the earlier sittings. The location of the Tavern is excellent too as it is right beside the beaches and the Murrough (Coastal Walk) as well as other attractions. The only thing to watch out for is parking as it is mostly metered around the town, Looking forward to our next stay @ The Bridge Taven : )

Have stayed at the Bridge many times and really enjoyed each visit however when I stayed at the Tavern last year and was resting in my room in the evening I was disturbed by very loud music from the bar, I could not hear the tv and could not hear things on my phone; even with headphones. The music/ singing was very loud and I complained to management who then moved me to an inferior room where the music could still be heard but was tolerable. Very early in the morning a building alarm went off and lasted for approx half an hour. It costs a lot to stay at the Bridge and I was very very upset about the quality of my stay as previous visits had been excellent.

MASSIVELY OVERPRICED NO Housekeeping - Staff unable to explain why no housekeeping or clean towels and teas/coffees/milks not replaced. NO explanation from management - No one able to explain before we left as we had to leave our keys in a drop box as no one in the bar/reception at 11am when we left on the Sunday morning. Furniture in the room is very basic and only 2 coat hangers supplied in a unit without doors. The beds have low quality mattresses and bedding. TV is analogue working through an ariel and the reception was poor. Towel rail in bathroom dirty/dusty and rusty. Breakfast has a limited choice. NO Cereal available at breakfast. NO Fresh fruit, NO Yoghurt NO Fruit juices At OVER €200 a NIGHT the Bridge Tavern is Massively Overpriced for what it delivers. The price charged is extortionate for the service and quality of furniture and facilities in the room. We stayed at vastly superior hotels for considerably less money during our visit and they were in a busy town location and a country golf club. Both cost less and both provided a much higher standard of service, breakfast and quality of beds, linen and furniture, TV in the bedrooms. At €205 A NIGHT it is nothing short off a rip off.

Visited the bridge tavern for an informal family gathering on Saturday last - 25 people booked in advance. They charged €150 on top of our bill for a non descript upstairs room that had no character. The menu at €30/€38 per head for a 2/3 course set meal was acceptable without the surcharge. Service was exceptionally slow - it took almost an hour to get to the main course & complaints were voiced on the day with no response from management. Our party had travelled from the UK, USA, Donegal, Dublin, Waterford & Wexford hoping for a nice relaxed get together. When the food eventually arrived the servers wandered around without direction randomly trying to match the meal with the people who ordered it with no clear direction or method. It was underwhelming to the least. We were looking for a comfortable, welcoming, professional space for our family get together but this experience fell short in every sense of the word. No leadership, no accountability = very dissatisfied customers. On a positive note the location was very lovely.
